Looks like I'm using my Viper as my primary daily driver. The Mercedes S Class is sitting in the garage. So I've decided that I either want an SRT-10, or a C-6 Convertible, since I'm not at ease leaving the car parked without a top or windows, in some of the places I go to.

I bought it on February 15 with 8400 miles. I've known the car since my friend bought it new, and Ted May our local Viper Tech has cared for it. It has the usual-- factory recall work done on front and back frame, smooth intakes, K&N filters, cat delete (with cats being held at Ted's shop), Autoform hard top, soft top, tonneau, Autoform side windows, later series larger, center mounted fan, all fluids changed within the last two months, new battery in 2003. Head gaskets inspected regularly, updated coolant resevoir top, and so on.

Black with Silver Stripes, stock wheels and original tires in good shape.

I've put about 2500 miles on it since February (and about 900 on my Mercedes), and I want just a slight amount of additional "civility" e.g. a top I can take with me, and windows --- but not a hard top GTS-- I want the sun most of the time.

I've put my car in the classifieds, but would also be willing to use it as a trade on an SRT-10. Opinions on pricing in light of the above will also be listened to. :usa: :2tu:

Regards,
Larry

Well for what you need, I think you should go with the SRT. The SRT will give you everything you want but you must remember that you can not park it everywhere as it draws a few peoples attention. Good luck!

I've gotten zero response to this post or my advertisement here in Viperclub. I'm curious as to why? Bad wording?
Price? Year? Nobody wants a 96 RT/10? What?

I think you can get top dollar you are asking but need to seperate yourself from all the other Vipers for sale out there.

I would suggest you AL LEAST add a picture.

Then do something creative like offer to email a print out of the last visit you made to a certified Viper Tech, more pictures, invoice of oil changes and other routine maintenance you had done, a photo of the window sticker when new pictures of the original owner and all the maintenance he had done etc.

Like I say I think you can get your price which is pretty high to me when you can get a 2000 for about that much BUT you gotta work for it :)

Good luck on it.

It's definitely price. Check Autotrader... you can get a 96-2000 GTS for the $44,500 that you are asking for. Same with RT's...

This is the absolute worst place to ask for price suggestions. You'll get low ball prices and we all wonder why our cars aren't holding their values. It's worth every bit as much as someone will buy it for. Pure & simple :)

Price is above what other 96 RTs are going for, but it seems obvious you don't just have the average RT/10. It will take time to sell it at that price, and you will have to find someone that is not out to get the Best Price, but a GREAT car with the extras your car has.

That being said, you better put some pictures up!!

Just FYI, I have had over 60 calls on my 96 RT/10. I can infer that the vast majority don't seem to be serious buyers by the types of questions that they ask. My car also has considerably higher mileage than yours 35k and a lower price of $34.5k. Hence the lower end market.

I would absolutely get some pictures up as soon as you can.

My car is probably sold as I have a deposit on it. Be patient, this is the right time of year to sell your car.

Best of luck!

Use Tripod or Geocities etc to make a free website with pics of your car.

Most people here already have a Viper!

True but of little use.

The truth is, it is worth what others like it are selling for.

If your car is priced way above others like it, the only calls you can expect are from people who have not seen the others.

If you want to sell it, put a price on it that will make it a good deal compared to the other offerings.

Be sure to post up how things work out. I'd be interested to see what it sells for if you go that route or even what the trade in allowance may end up being. I have a red '96 RT/10 with a few more mods that I've considered trading/selling for an '01 GTS for similar reasons as you state, but I'm not real motivated to part with the car.
