Hi All,

I've been here at the SEMA show and have walked up and down every isle at the Las Vegas Convention Center (took two full days, 9:00-5:00). I looked at each booth for new ideas, products and Viper specific upgrades. Still have the upper and lower floors of the Sands Convention Center left to go.
Folks, I can tell you, the Viper aftermarket is going to see many more great items in the next year and one upgrade area is going to be red-hot by summer. Look for many new products in 2002 from myself and I would assume many others attending the show. I just had to say something, it's too exciting not to.

I look forward to seeing new products from you. I have been happy with the items you have supplied (Dan Cragin installed) for my car. Best Wishes to you for 2002!

Sean,
If I can make a suggestion of something that might help people who are short like 5'7...who don't want to eat the steering wheel when driving their Vipers....

Can you make an extension that would go over the clutch pedal that would allow the driver to have his or her seat a bit further back. Something like a aluminum block that is crafted or fitted (bolt on) to the clutch pedal...I guess it would be like a booster seat for people with shorter legs. Whatcha think?

Guys, I wish I was at liberty to tell you specifics at this time. But, you'll have to wait for official press / new product releases from the respective companies (mine included). I may see more at the Sands today. I have to cram the rest of the show into today, drive to Los Angeles for a meeting tomorrow morning and drive back for a flight out of Vegas tomorrow night. When I get back home, I'll start putting more information together and publish what I can.

Waaaay back at VOI-I, long before a VCA officially existed, 5'2" Jean Randall {The Little Old lady From Pasadena..via K.C} needed such pedal blocks. Some time therefater, I believe Randy Weidner of ZAF had a modified pedal set for short-statured owners. They are THICKER vsersion of his great pedal covers.

I bet he could make em for you..........

I was at SEMA and I have a few comments.

1) Most Viper Vendors we are familiar with do not exhibit, but instead go as Buyers.

This is unfortunate because there is no official way to contact Buyers while at this show.

I know there had to be Viper owners there too (me).

Too bad the club didn't "organize" at least a couple of meeting times to get-together.

2) Auto Gauge has been asked by Mopar to develop gauge cluster for Viper, however, they haven't gotten around to it yet because they don't know how much interest there would be in it. One of their reps there knew Doug Levin and I said I'll bet Doug would like to sell gauge clusters on his intalls...

At any rate, everyone who is interested should call Auto Gauge and let them know you want gauge clusters.

I think the most effective cluster would be a second horizontal row of gauges right on top of the stock ones.

3) Kumho still doesn't seem to know anything about 18in Viper tires...

4) There are still no Viper supercharger kits yet, but let's face it, it is only a matter of time....

5) Unfortunately, SEMA was overwhelmed with Corvettes. There were literally dozens of HP and customized Corvettes while the only Viper I can remember was the Competition Coupe in the DC display. There was one on a rotating platform in one of the casinos surrounded by slot machines but seriously, I don't remember seeing another one at SEMA.

6) In the DC area, they had a muscle car Charger.... with a Viper V10 in it!!!! I also heard there was a PT Cruiser with one also - I didn't see it though.

7) Did anyone see the guy doing the David Blain (Blane?) type "magic" in the tire area? Amazing! ...claims he can read you thru your eyes and facial expressions. If he says the word "red," he will know immediately if anyone is holding a red card!

What does this mean? Don't even let the police ask you a question if you are being held....

One other interesting product:

The new G-Force drag computer appears awesome.

It can do just about anything you can think of and the display is a graphical one. This means you can actually plot HP and Torques curves on the unit's screen (!).

It also has a laptop interface (!!)

The whole product including laptop software will retail for about $300!

Frankly, I hope they put Vericom out of business. The thousands of dollars Vericom wants for their PC interfacable unit is ridiculous!

Also, G-Force has other units in the same case. One is an automatic traffic computer that keeps you updated of slowdowns, accidents, and construction. You don't have to listen to those traffic radio reports to be up to date.

They also have another variant which keeps a mileage log and will produce reports acceptable by the IRS.

They also have a combo unit which includes both of the above in a single package.

These guys are on the ball!

Sean, I saw you at the show. We both happened to be in the same clutch manufacturers booth. What are the chances of that? I didn't want to interrupt, so I was on my way. He's right guys. Many new products will be developed for the Viper market in the coming year, that is if the companies hold true to their word! I just can't wait for the lighted mirror visors!!!dj
