Well, what a wild and quick ride that was! Two short weeks ago I would have told you that we would never part with our 2003 SRT-10. Beautiful, fast, and as dependable as they come. Yet fate is a fickle thing indeed, and little did we expect that our name would actually be drawn for one of the yellow VCA SRT-10's. And yet it was.

No need to advertise, one cruise was all it took to get several people interested in our SRT. No time wasted after that either, the proud new owner came by and picked her up with his brother and nephews in tow. It was a very sad day in the Marshall house today...

So now we sit with what could have been a very empty garage for the next couple months. Not to worry, the '94 yellow RT/10 we babysat for almost a year has been offered to us to keep until VOI 8. Gotta love that Viper community!

I hope everyone has enjoyed the pictures of our black SRT over the past 18 months. The new owner is only a couple miles from me, so I suspect I will still be able to get some pictures of it from time-to-time. Be prepared for a LOT of yellow SRT pictures in the not-too-distant future!

I got picked also... However, do you know if there are any spec differences or just some special paint and interior?

Also, my dealer wants to know what the invoice price is and has not been able to find out.

Seriously doubt any spec differences (performance). Paint, interior (floor mats added), wheels, and a car cover. And that all-important Limited Edition Serial Number plate. I would guess that invoice is around $81K including the gas guzzler tax of $3K - similar to what the White Mamba had for an invoice.

Don't know if the new owner will be in town or not. I sure hope so! What ticks me off is that I won't have a Viper to pilot down the 1/4. If there is one thing I am fairly decent at, it would be drag racing. Sigh...

Do you have an open class for stock SUV's?

Same SRT-10 wheels, only black powdercoated. Can't add too much, can it? Regardless I am obviously in - hook, line, and sinker. C'mon September 9th!!

Chris, just ask the good Doctor to bring an extra Viper for you, I think hes owns about 20 or 30 now! So when can I see some really good pics of the 94 Rt you are babysitting? The pictures you take must make it look even better.

Yep, correct on my statement that my guesstimate of $81K is invoice, not list. I already know the list on the VCA SRT: $89,995.00.

Now on that Viper changing thing, I was forced by necessity every time: Buy the GTS in 1999 and figure "until death do us part." Weasels at Dodge give me a certificate to buy an SRT-10 in 2002. Drive one in Nashville (VOI 7) and realize it is simply a better car than my GTS (not better looking, just better performing). So goes the GTS. Get the SRT in early 2003 (January 18th to be exact) and figure "until death do us part." Once again the weasels at Dodge, in conjunction with the weasels at the VCA, offer some certificates for "a very special Viper." Knowing I had ZERO chance, I threw my name in the hat. Of course my name gets drawn this time. And so goes the 2003 SRT-10.

Will the 2005 grace the Marshall garage for decades to come? Hard to say, but you might check with the weasels at Dodge. They probably have something up their collective sleeves to mess up that marriage too...

What was so funny was that I figured I would start advertising it now "just in case". Didn't even place a single ad, other than my "must sell" note on this very forum. I had hoped it would take a little longer to sell so I would have a Viper for the bulk of the summer. Nope! Ten days after the call from VCA HQ and my Viper is a memory. Such a joy to show up at tonight's Viper Club meeting - in an SUV...

I can only imagine if the new owner gets into an accident.

Insurance company: Sir, is it possible that you have ANY photos of the car prior to the accident.

ANY photos of the car?!?! HMMM I made be able to find one or two.........hundred.

It's kind of sad. I'm sort of new to the Viper club and have heard what a great drag racer Chris is. But to see him sledding down the 1/4 mile in the Family SUV on Friday night at the V-10 Nationals was just too much. Dina says her Red 2003 is for sale. Only 3500 miles on it going to the grocery store and back.
