Regarding HP:

Since the best you can do is max area under the HP curve per gear, that means you must basically center the peak HP in each gear to really get the bang for you HP buck.

What this generally means is you have to wind the engine more than you might ordinarily - depending on how you drive of course!

not good to run over 1100 psi. the nitrous oxide looses its liquidity at this point and leans out your air fuel ratio. also nitrous makes more power in a liquid state. i have found that anywhere from 1000-1067 psi works best 4 me. 900 psi is running way 2 close 2 border line rich but then it depends on how rich or lean your motor is in a normally aspirated state before u spray.

I run quite rich before spray and have propane as a secondary fuel with the spray so I go for the biggest psi I can feel comfortable with. Do I understand you to say that 1200 psi isn't going to get as much power as 1000-1067? I set for very rich and ran 1350 psi today. Feels like a JATO rocket. Every 100 psi I add seems to add a ton of power. I know I am flirting with disaster...if I stop posting here, you can assume something didn't go well! Just kidding, I check everything a million times like a airline pilot and test and check everything often when I am playing with different thermostats. But today was hot and I had left my trunk open in the sun and the pressure was insane...and so was the power. I'll probably end up using a 36 Celsius (95 F) for regular use but I'm tempted to use the 38 (102 F) I have on now for special days!

Sorry, I'm not trying to steal this post, the point was that Nitrous can deliver widely varying amounts of power and I would be concerned about racing a car as powerful as a Vette with Nitrous...of course I'd be more concerned with a Viper with Nitrous!

hmmm. propane? never tried that. i run 100+ octane gas when i am gonna spray. i know of a drag boat racer who runs his fuel injected big block chevy on alcohol makes 800 horsepower this way. when he gets the boat planed out he throws down a 200 shot of nitrous mixed with 116 octane race gas. he is a nuclear bomb designer at los alamos in new mexico. so he is good with mixing lots of different chemicals and producing different types of reactions. lol! he even painted a big atom on the front of his boat and named it the atom bomb or something like that. anyway he was a very smart guy and his boat was bad ***.
