I took one of my side pipe covers off to repair, and I need the paint code for the black portion. The red is easy, but the black is not in the reference guide. It's not glossy, or flat. I usually use Dupont's Chroma Base/ clear. Should I use flattener? How much? Also, is the "stone guard" film available?

It's a joke (but it would probably work!)

Just throwing in a second opinion on the BBQ paint.
It works! For all those black Cobra side pipes, Hi-Temp BBQ paint is the way to go. Lasts, a very long time and if necessary, easy to touch up. Doesn't turn "gray" like header paint either.

I called Fitgerald to see what they use and they said spray can black high temp...any satin color....

When mine were done by Chrysler at the dealer apparently they were already the black color primed - they just masked the sidepipe portion and sprayed around it body color.
