I endedup using the one shown in the illustrated upgrades. It's nor cheap, $59.95, but neither is your Viper. It works like a charm and nothing is left exposed to the elements. Before I got it, I bought a cheap skip-shift rig on ebay (a resistor) for about $6.95, and it would have had me tape over an otherwise exposed electrical connection-MICKEY MOUSE-to protect it. The one from northwind is plugged inline (at both ends) leaving nothing exposed. Maybe you get what you pay for, you know?:2tu:

Does this affect gen 3's? I've never had either of my gen 3's not allow me into gear, only the notchy shifting into 2nd.
