\"Snake Bite\"

Picking up my 05 Viper Red SRT 10 in 2 weeks - been haunting this site for a while and waffling back and forth between getting a viper or keeping my vette - anyway, when does "snake bite" most often happen - from a newbie prespective how can it be avoided? Gentle throttle? Shift patterns? Around corners? Thanks

It happens every time you forget how much power this car has !! Forget everything you learned driving the VETTE. No forgiveness or any allowance for mistakes with the VIPER... It's SCHOOL TIME.

Treat your new snake with respect. Don't think you can pick up in your Viper where your Vette left off. When you jump on that throttle, make sure your wheels are pointed straight ahead, or you're going around in circles. The Viper will be more difficult than the Corvette to drive fast. Take your time and learn your car. Maybe even take a driving school like Viper Days.

I asked the same questions on the post "ZO6 to Viper -- Keep me out of trouble!!"

It on the 2nd page. I don't know how to link to it.
Good advice.

Break her in slowly. I think the transition from Z06 to Viper is reasonable.

Welcome back from the Dark Side:) J/K Congrats on your new Viper. Respect the Viper and it's power. I have had mine a month now and still have much to learn. Go to a Viper Days as soon as you can. I am bummed I have to wait till September to go in Pahrump NV.

Be careful and enjoy the thumbs up from just about every other 5th or 6th car:)

You could come to Willow Springs next month. WCV is having a track day (weekend) it's more reasonable than Viper Days and could help you warm up (pun intended) before the hot track in NV. Check this site out > WCV Track Day
