There are lots of alternatives available out there. If you just do a search online you can find ones that are half the price. I think I paid like $30 for mine.

I absolutely HATE to say this......maybe their website is out-dated??? THAT is ALOT of $$$$!!

I bought that very kit, used but un-opened, for $90. BEST $90 I ever spent!!! EASY to install, time consuming, because you really should pull the rear bulkhead pieces. I am sure there is a half-assed way to do it without pulling the bulkhead.....but why? :)

Direct replacement in back, NO drilling in back....actually, the ONLY hole you HAVE to make is for the button in the little glove box.

I took power from the lighter....but I had ALL of the interior out of my car at the time.

Very long distance call for you....I'll try to call them on Monday to see if that is an up-to-date price.

you can have a stereo shop attach a popper to an aftermarket alarm if you dont want to bother with install, or ordering from the states

Or you could pick up one of those license plate holders from your local Chrysler dealer. It flips when you need to access to the lock. It is not a Viper specific part, so they should have it or be able to order it easily. Otherwise the cheapest way is a nice small hole in your license plate.

Thanks everybody for the sound advice.

Jipi, I've been looking everywhere for a licence plate bracket like this one !!

It surely will be less expensive that 225 USD...

I'll give you a call...

Does anyone know the part number for this license plate holder?
What Chrysler model is it made for?
I asked it from my local Chrysler dealer but they couldn't find it.

i could ask around on our forum to see if anyone has one lying around, as some remove them to fit a US sized plate instead

Maybe that's why my Chrysler dealer couldn't find one.

Is this flip down bracket attached to the original american plate brackets (4 little ones)? The previous owner had lost one of those orginal brackets so I was wondering if I need to get a new one somewhere.

It would be great if you could ask them.

Thanks.

yes, the UK plate holders do use the existing x4 holes for the US plate, they are just simply
fixed with a nut, bolt and washer

So I guess I'll have to ask if my dealer could find me one of those little white US brackets to attach the UK plate holder. Sure I have the angular holes on my trunk lid but one of the brackets is missing.

Give me a PM if you find someone with an extra UK plate holder lying around.

It would be helpful if someone could give me the part number for the US plate brackets. I Couldn't find it from the service manual. My car is 94 RT/10.

Thanks,
Pyry

Hello,

My French licence plate is blocking the access to the lock of the trunk, so I'm thinking of buying this accessory.
Electric Trunk Release System :: Electrical accessories :: Electrical :: Snake-Oyl Products :: Dodge Viper Products, Parts, Accessories
Do any of you have feedback on this product?
Any reliability issue? Is it difficult to install?

Thanks for your help

Eric.

Hey Eric,

What you need is a power door lock actuator, a momentary switch and a relay. It's about less than $30. I have it installed on my 02' RT quite awhile, here is a link where you can buy the power lock actuator: Amazon.com: HIGH POWER DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR 2 WIRE: Electronics
PM me if you need any pictures or help on the installation.
