Today I was swapping out one of my rear shocks, as an assembly. As I was buttoning everything up, I snapped the lower shock mounting bolt. The manual I have says torque to 140 ft.lbs, which is what I had my wrench set at.

Makes me wonder if I had a bum bolt, or maybe my torque wrench needs to be calibrated. This happen to anyone else here? Bolt seems aluminum, but shouldn't be that easy to snap.:dunno:

Bolts are 100, not 140. Manual typo. Elsewhere in the same section it is stated correctly.

Nice typo... I did the same thing about one month ago, major PITA. Bolt is a grade 8.8 or 9.8 steel, too (with a zinc coating). Grrrr. Car was stuck on the jack for several days while I got a replacement bolt. Beware!
