Nice pic of this famous mule car posted from the Woodward action over on the Gen II board shows it is actually a bra-type soft cover on the red hood. Not a black hood after all. Heck those aren't even real vents. You can see the red hood color through the holes in the black cover.

Now looking at this pic (with 20/20 hindsight), you can see wrinkles in the bra and some red from the hood peeking through on the right hand edge, BUT the vents do look real in this pic

there are real vents i was standing next to Hisserman when he took those Woodward pics, looking down into them and the last pic also shows openings.

I am sure there is a use for those holes to release heat and the only way to do that is through holes in the hood so that would lead be to believe they are real.

i am suprised to hear that some of you thought the hood was black and the black WASNT a cover in the first place.

it was the wrinkles around all the vents that gave it away for me, much better seen in this pic.

Come to think about it, when this story 1st broke, wasnt it reported as viper mules with a black "cover" over the hoods? If so, I'm not sure where the rumor started that the actual hoods were black

Is it me or does those rotors look drilled? Also I find it interesting that in every pic everything looks clear except the hood. Even in the pic above the black cover looks like it was added to the pic.

It does look like the center section of that hood is a bit higher than normal SRT-10 hoods, doesn't it?

The bra is used to hide something..... I think there is some sort of filling underneath it. With this filling people will have to guess how the hood looks, the center could be the '06 hood but might as well be a different one.

Car manufacturers often use some kind of filling to hide these things.

This camouflage was hiding the new Renault Laguna
