how far up the hood does it go

Definitely want to have this done by a competent shop with the latest clear bra technology! It will not harm your paint whatsoever and will greatly help protect it.
I recently had the front end on my Gallardo redone for cosmetic reasons and they had to take off 4 year old clear bra from my hood.
Paint was flawless under it no residue whatsoever and this was clear bra technology from four years ago, its been improved with "self healing" properties and better UV protection.

I had both my ACR's done straight from the factory and so have many others.
I've seen brand new Ferrari's and Lambo's coming off the transporter trucks right to the installer, it's that important.

I'm obviously a fan of the Blue/Silver or Blue/White color combo after it came out in 1996, but I gotta hand it to you that Stryker Red is absolutely beautiful!!!!! I first saw it at the 2012 NEw York Auto Show and fell in love with the color. Seeing your pics remind me of just how awesome it is, like the car is wrapped in rubies or something. Congrats!!!!! Just make sure to wrap your car in a clear bra before tracking it. I have all the important panels covered on my car and I'm convinced it has already saved me a lot of potential damage from small rock chips, etc, in the few miles that I have driven it. Won't harm the paint at all, and well worth the investment with a color like yours. It would be a crime to take a Stryker Red Viper to the track without some form of protection for the paint and coming out with a car full of road rash and a ruined paint job.....

Wow, possibly the best photos I've seen of that color, and of a Gen V in general. Beautiful!

Photos never do justice to Vipers. I used to look forward to washing my 2000 steel gray GTS just because every angle looked so beautiful.

Thanks for the compliments, guys.

@Andrew you will not feel one iota of disappointment if you do.

@v10enomous you are right, the car is still better in person.

@VenomV I do freelance photography work on the side. I'll get back to you about your PM.

I can see the tears from the first rim kerbing and dent/scratch already!

I opted for the wheel protection plan offered by the dealer specifically for this. If a wheel or tire is damaged the dealer will replace it at no charge, with the same OEM parts. It was under $1K and it's good for at least 5 years. Also surprised to find out that chrysler offers a full lifetime bumper-2-bumper warranty on the viper with no mileage or time limitations. I thought that was a good deal too.

Uh how much was that full lifetime bumper 2 bumper warranty with no limitations?

I don't remember the exact price off the top of my head but it was in the $4,000 range with a $100 deductible per claim and it's through chrysler, not 3rd party warranty service. The standard factory warranty is 3yrs/36K miles bumper-to-bumper with 5yrs/60K miles on the powertrain.

Do you have to get it when getting the car or can you get it after the 3 year warranty is up?

Thanks so much guys for the reviews compared to the 13/14 Gt500. I love the torque of my 2014 gt500 & am glad to know the Viper will feel as powerful.

I don't know what the limitation is, if any, on getting the extended warranty. I would guess that you can buy it within that 3-year window but the price may be higher based on your car's current mileage.

As with most warranties, you prob have to buy it at the same time you purchase the car.
