I've got my battery disconnected on my '08 while I've got the intake manifold off getting polished. Won't have it back together for over a week. I've been noticing some threads of people having issues when reconnecting the battery after it's been off for a while. Other than reprogramming the fob and radio, is there any other Hocus Pocus I need to do, like a TPS relearn when I reconnect the battery? I know on my 98, I always performed a TPS relearn after reconnecting the battery by turning the ignition on, slowly depressing the accelerator pedal all the way to the floor, then letting it up, repeating this 3 times, so that the TPS will relearn the zero through WOT. Turn the key off, then drive normal. Seems like people are having window issues as well.

I can't say about "days", but I had my '03 disconnected for 'hours' and the only issue I had was getting back into the car. Had to use the manual key under the mirror while pushing/pulling gently on the door to get in. Then inserted the normal key into the ignition and turned to 'run' and everything came back alive.

But why do you need to have the battery disconnected with the intake off??? If everything is laid aside/disonnected where nothing will short out, why not leave it connected and on a charger/tender? Just curious....

Well I asked myself that question after the fact. I was just going off the service manual recommendations and figured it had something to do with unplugging and plugging back in the sensors. But I've unplugged sensors with the battery connected before and the worst thing that happened was it threw codes, which was easy enough to clear with a scan tool.

The manual always recommends disconnecting the battery is safest way especially if the intake is off for over a week, there always some chance someone starts the car or fuel leak etc..... there is always learning process and regrets in life, we all been through it,

You should only need to do the window relearn procedure and you'll get a diagnostic trouble code for having the battery disconnected that should go away after a cycle or two.

So what is the "window relearn' procedure if you don't mind me asking?:)
I did a quick search and the only thread that came up was inconclusive. Thanks!

Key in the on position (car not started), roll the windows all the way down and hold for 5 seconds, release, then roll it up and hold for 5 seconds. Repeat 3 times. Done.

Perfect! Thanks Steve! Do you do this to both windows simultaneously or one at a time?

When I did mine, I just did both windows at the same time. Not sure it would matter either way.

When I try this with mine after holding down 5 seconds I get a delay for some time before it will let them roll up. Is this supposed to happen???
