About to buy this, does anyone have any info on it?
EDIT: I've gone with this silver one. My original post with the red car turned out to be fishy.

This gen 2 was deemed a total loss in 2001, but since 2002 it's been on the road and until 2017 was a single owner car. I'm buying from a reputable seller this time, supposedly well known on the FB groups.

I don’t have any info on this but I have always been warned against buying flood damaged cars. Problems begin to rise as time passes and is not always apparent instantly. Can be weeks, months or years but the problems become apparent.

Not sure the extent of the flooding but good luck with it!

Make sure you google the vin#, you'll see when it was auctioned and some pictures back then. As mentioned above, some problems, mostly electrical take a little time to develop.

I'm hoping the car is well sorted and the interior was redone. The flood was back in 2018 and the car seems to have been back on the road since 2019.

For what I'm paying, I figure I might as well sample a Viper. I loved them growing up, but sometimes meeting your hero can be disappointing. This car is cheap enough(in my mind) that if owning a classic isn't for me I can turn around and sell this for little to no loss.

Or, I will love it and want to upgrade to a nicer Gen 2 that has door locks and power windows at least.

Flood cars are very scary to buy, ask for and post all repairs they did to it (the repair bill not the estimate). If they don’t have them then walk away or offer them half of what they’re asking.

So I instead put a deposit on this gen 2. The flood car owner was being sketchy and taking a long time to get me proper photos...pointing to covering something up.

If that Gen2 was a Total back in 2001, then the frame was damaged (bent). Some repair via a new frame section, and some just try to pull the frame. I'd highly recommend that you find someone to take a good look at this one before you buy it. Good luck, Mike
