Does the SRT have the mounting hole for the 5 point harness in the floor like the gen. 1&2's? If so, where is it? If not, does one make a bracket between the 2 front seat mounts and then mount it there?

TIA!!!:2tu:

The answer is yes, the SRT has the mounting points for SIX point belts. Six points do not have the center front strap location. The six point locations are the two Sylvan mentioned that are behind the plastic panel on the rear bulkhead. The other 2 are on the two sides under the carpet. Hard to locate but they are there. The tunnel location has a bolt in position that needs to be removed.

I think if you do a search you will find better instructions. But the answer is that it is prefitted for SIX point belts.

mine are the 6pt, TeamTech makes two models that will fit the SRT buy the custom set they include the mounting hardware(generic set does not). JonB at PartsRack can hook you up with a very good price on them.

Thanks guys. The owner already bought his own 5-points. I will make a bracket that goes between the front seat mounts and mount the crotch strap there.

A bit of a hijack, but are 5 or 6 point belts legal for street use? or do you have to push them aside and use the standard belts on the street?

NOT DOT approved, now if a police officer will write a ticket or not for wearing them is another story. IMO on the street wear the std 3pts that are in the car

The 1st answer is NO.........no mount for a 5-pt.

Any aftermarket 'brackets' to rig a 5pt may or may not be SCCA, SFI, or FIA compliant. Stay AWAY if racing. HOWEVER: For Club-track lapping events we have access to such a bar, but a 5-pt does NOT support you like a 6pt. We do not recommend the $125 5pt bar in lieu of a 6pt harness.

WE DO HAVE SIX-PT SYSTEM, as the car was designed for. From $189 unpadded.

Why not just buy the 6-points? They will certainly be safer, and probably easier/cheaper than fabricating a bracket.

That's a good question Kai.

I would not screw around with add on bars, just get the correct stuff. If you even intend to drag or track your car, your life just isn't worth it.

You can likely sell your 5 pts to a Gen I or II owner.
