Not to say that it isn't cool, but what is the deal with the start buttons on cars these days? I mean, it's a car for gosh sakes, not a blender...
I have to admit, you made me laugh, the blender comment.
I know this isn't a Viper, but for the last car I built, it needed a button to start it. Personally, I would like a button to spin the motor to prime it, then ignition secondary. Here's a goofy video I had to make for a buyer. The problem was that the 572 c.i. / 9.4L Hemi could kick back and strip the ring gear teeth if you tried to spin the starter and hit the ignition simultaneously with a key. It happened, not so fun taking it apart.. I needed to spin the motor, build up inertia, then hit the ignition. It was a normally aspirated motor, approximately 800 hp.
That's the story on my hot rod blender!

Other than a button to start the car, I do prefer a key in the dash like my wife's Corvette rather than the steering column ignition. Yet, it's not perfect because we did have a recall on the Corvette, there is an electric solenoid in the steering column that locks the steering when the car is parked (since there isn't a mechanical ignition lock in the column), and it had to be disabled because it may accidently engage the electric solenoid steering lock at low speed while driving..
