One true weakness in the SRT sound system is that it doe's not have very good mid range, and the very deep bass is not there. Lower mid bass is exellent, but considering the layout of the car, its very good. If you have listened to some of the Bose sound systems that are in cars, one thing they have is a true flat responce. This is very hard to a achieve and costly. This can spoil you. Your ears notice it quickly, and the SRT is very absent in this area. Most sound shops know nothing about this, but if it's more power power you want they can help, for thats all they are good for,(selling noise)in my opinion.
I've noticed that as time goes, you do adjust somewhat to the absent mid range, and lack of sub bass, and by this I don't mean excesive amounts of sub base, but a balance of it, whith the rest of the music. I will explore this soon, but as far a butchering up the car, and coming up with what may be worse, no way until I find someone that knows the way a system should be. But this sound system would rate very poor when compared to the likes of Lexus,BMW,MB,etc, and I not so much because of power, but responce.
Maybee a better set of mid's might help.
