I'm gonna follow up on this in the morning, I'm close enough to check it out and I'm not in the market, so I'll report back for interested buyers. I'm afraid we have our first "salvage title SRT" the reason I believe that is Kurt is correct about invoice.

I ran into a ad placed last week where the guy placed his car in the paper for the sticker price. I called and he said he wanted $20,000 over sticker and that he just placed the ad to generate interest!! This was on a SL55 AMG. I told him his ad was misleading and then he replied with, hey there are other cars out there! This ad may be the same type of deal, if not, please let me know.

Hey, isn't that called "false advertising," which can land you in court if someone were to pursue it? He should be taken to court and sued for $20K for lying with the purposeful intent to generate interest. That would teach him a much-needed lesson. What an @ss.

A couple of thoughts:

1) Perhaps it is already "damaged"

2) In "seller's" markets, the item sells for way over the asking price. The realitors collect a bunch of bids over a short perior of a couple of days then go back to each bidder and say they have a lot of bids being considered and to get back with their best and final offer.
