Re: SRT production #\'s?

Jay and Y2K5SRT,
Thanks for the info. My Yellow VCA was the first 04 built and it has VIN V100001. I did not know that there is a Silver VCA. Do you know what features it has and what it looks like? Thanks!

So, what's with the 3 non-Mamba white cars? I thought white only came with the Mamba package.

Right, but Y2K5SRT's production numbers for 2004 show "PWA White: 203" - 200 of those were the Mamba's, but what were the other 3? I thought DCX said the white would ONLY be available as a Mamba.

Good question!

I know that Herb Helbig had the honor of driving around a white SRT-10 with black stripes that was used for some media events (including the Viper vs Viper "race")... not sure about the other two?

Re: SRT production #\'s?

There were several white non-mambas built for engineering and durability testing... they have been seen around SRT and Chelsea area.

"White Lightning" - the Herb car was a 2003MY...

Re: SRT production #\'s?

Are the limited production mamba's, vca raffle car, etc. all included in the 04 production posted by Chris? My car's less then a 1 of 200...wonder how many red's made for Canada. How can we find out in more detail?

Re: SRT production #\'s?

My understanding is that the VOI 8 raffle car was originally painted silver. Red was then applied with the ghost flames in order that the silver would shine through giving the great effect that we all saw.

This may explain the 1 silver 2004

Re: SRT production #\'s?

The yellow VCA is undoubtedly the yellow raffle car noted by GoldenVenom. The silver is probably the raffle car displayed at VOI 8. While it was a custom paint job (dark red), it very well may have started life as a silver car. That's my guess.

It sounds like the three extra white cars were production mules of some sort (maybe Herb's car, etc.). As to additional breakdowns by location, my guess is that this is about as much of a drill down as you will get right now. We will see what Jay comes up with...

You are correct. None of these three whites were sold. Sometimes they show up a few years out, but these cars are usually crushed.

Sorry, First Unit Off-Line: 1B3JZ65Z04V100033 was the first off the line. Vipers do not run in VIN order, so 1 is not always first. To confuse matters more, sometimes pilot and pre-productions cars have a dif number in one VIN digit which will allows them to start over when the production cars start down the line.

But there is good news: it is the first Yellow SRT :)
