Finally got my chance to attend the SRT track expoerience, overall I rated it very informative. Before I arrived I had this illusion of at least 10-15 other vipers there at which time would be a great opportunity to exchange notes with fellow snake owners. Well 75 other SRT owners attended this event and to my suprise my snake was the only viper there. Numerous SRT8 chargers & 300C'S even a couple of C6 vettes. I was entertained throughout the day by numerous SRT8 Charger owners commenting about the different mods that were done to their cars. Well needless to say upon completion of the event my snake was pretty much hungry for whatever meal was available (SRT8 Chargers). Just no that I represented the viper the way in which all snake owners would be proud.

I just went the SRT Experience Oct. 20th at MIS. Same there. I was the only Viper. Many other SRT vehicles. A few Viper owners but none that drove there rides to the event.

Where do you attend and how would you rate the experience?

The MIS one was very good. Did get to use the road course and half of the two mile highspeed oval. Was able to achieve 140 mph in a 300 SRT8. Only allowed to use Vipers on the very short autocross. All in all a good experience.

Attended at the California speedway Fontana, CA. Overall very good event, but I was disappointed that the snakes were not allowed for use on the high speed road course. One of the instructors stated the reason (student totalled a snake on this course in atlanta)

Interesting comments and observations, each track is different and the event seems ever evolving. Wife and I went to Cal speedway 18 motnhs ago and to Vegas about a year ago. Just a few viper owners, and we drove our ACR to CA, flew to Vegas. At CA you could drive everthing except the vipers on the drag strip. Road course only, no high bank. Wild to drive SRT-10 Truck on the roadcourse swb w/6 speed, very impressed with the handling, never been that high up looking for the apex. Lucky to get drawn for the protype w/quad turbo's (?), never had the immeidate feeling of such a rush. 6 months later you could see some changes at Vegas. No more drag racing the trucks, guy told me too many people shifting the auto trans, including miss shifting and tearing up the trans and rear end. Luckily Barber guy remebered us from CA and let us and our friends take a couple of runs. (Same guy was at VOI-9 running the carts on track day 2). Vegas was road course only, met a bunch of people from out of state to this event. Viper's were allowed on road course, just no drag racing. Friend we brought got drawn for comp coupe ride. Hate to see that
wreck at Atlanta ended viper road course! We paid the $350 both times and we were happy, great to see my wife get more comfortable and more seat time, she gets a little spooked at open track. Not in the market but really liked all the SRT cars/trucks. Fun event is at the end driving with the instructors, wild to see what they can do w/car control and how quickly they can destroy tires messing around! Highly recommend for people who have never gone to any track days. Hope they bring the vipers back to the road course

I thought the SRT Experience was a blast: They had about 10 Vipers there. The two laps the pros took us around in the SRT-10 Coupes was a day to remember!
155 MPH on the strightaway at Lime Rock Conn.
I did drive my 06 coupe to the event. It was indentical to three of the coupes there Red/Siler Stripes.

Very Informative and it really shows you what an animal car that we are really driving!!!!!!

First Strike,

They (SRT) should have let the local Viper Club know about this event in advance and we would have had a much better turn out.

Driving the SRT's at VOI was fun.

I was just at California Speedway on Oct 28th. I met 2 other Viper owners. Both nice guys, but neither of them drove theirs that day. So I think I was the only snake there that day also. Alot of Chargers. Anyways it was a fun event, especially at the end when I was one of three picked to ride in the Comp Coupe for about 5 laps on the road course.

I also participated in the event at MIS but on the 22nd. I drove my Viper even though it was raining and didn't see any others in the lot.

I paid $500 and enjoyed it very much. I'm currently negotiating on a Jeep SRT-8 and if I buy one I'll get to go again.

It sounds like DC hasn't renewed their contract with Skip Barber but they can't just drop the program. Here's a link to the discussion.
