Interesting comments and observations, each track is different and the event seems ever evolving. Wife and I went to Cal speedway 18 motnhs ago and to Vegas about a year ago. Just a few viper owners, and we drove our ACR to CA, flew to Vegas. At CA you could drive everthing except the vipers on the drag strip. Road course only, no high bank. Wild to drive SRT-10 Truck on the roadcourse swb w/6 speed, very impressed with the handling, never been that high up looking for the apex. Lucky to get drawn for the protype w/quad turbo's (?), never had the immeidate feeling of such a rush. 6 months later you could see some changes at Vegas. No more drag racing the trucks, guy told me too many people shifting the auto trans, including miss shifting and tearing up the trans and rear end. Luckily Barber guy remebered us from CA and let us and our friends take a couple of runs. (Same guy was at VOI-9 running the carts on track day 2). Vegas was road course only, met a bunch of people from out of state to this event. Viper's were allowed on road course, just no drag racing. Friend we brought got drawn for comp coupe ride. Hate to see that
wreck at Atlanta ended viper road course! We paid the $350 both times and we were happy, great to see my wife get more comfortable and more seat time, she gets a little spooked at open track. Not in the market but really liked all the SRT cars/trucks. Fun event is at the end driving with the instructors, wild to see what they can do w/car control and how quickly they can destroy tires messing around! Highly recommend for people who have never gone to any track days. Hope they bring the vipers back to the road course
