Kevin,

Retail sales are running 20 per month, June/July/Aug, 20/20/19, dealer inventory is at 200 units, production is 15-20 per week. Hopefully September will show a big spike in retail viper sales. I'm pro viper, but, unless the sales picks up, production will need to slow.
If you have an opportunity to buy the new viper you want, get it now!

I don't believe that there is a problem selling them now - and viper only builds for orders from dealers.... so - don't laugh at a price increase - between supplier BKs, Fiat ownership, other constraints - an increase is a possibility - it's happened almost every year....

Janni ,I was going by the quote from Redtanrt10 above...AND I do think a price increase is laughable unless it comes in step with Chevys Z06 and ZR1 price increase which by the way is still selling over sticker(ZR1) but prices are getting more realistic on them...Kevin

Have you ruled out buying one from a dealer who has one on the ground? Maybe you can get the deal you want...

Yes because I intended to go with SSG...I still dont know if SSG will be made as everyone in the know is mum...Its a mute point now that my dealer told me today my 2K deposit is non-refundable...I was told today that it was for ordering the car, funny but they ordered all their ACRs on March 12th and I just asked if they had a SSG ACR after my California deal fell through and it was way after March 12th:dunno:
Whats the sense of getting one now when 6 months of Winter awaits....Kevin

If this makes you feel better, I got my ACR on October 15th last year(my B-day), drove it 10 miles and parked it till May of this year.

Kevin - I'll store it at my house and put the break-in miles on it for you over the winter.... :)

Seriously, sorry about your troubles getting the car delivered. :(

A boss of mine once told me and this is not politically correct by any stretch, but "if you are being *****, at some point, you might as well lay back and enjoy it". At this point, you have been totally out of control as to when the car will be built, but you so know it will be built to your exact specifications, so in the end you will get exactly what you want. I would just stick it out and take delivery.

Personally I thought you were crazy for selling the last SSG Coupe because that WAS a beautiful car. You probably should have drove it a bit. An extra 500 miles would not have hurt the price at sale. But I understand as a SSG ACR is hard to pass up too.

Again, though just my opinion, I would sooner have a car built when I know the suppliers are not having major problems with parts, etc. in the future. If things are that bad, part suppliers will do what they need to to survive (you can't blame them) which means if cost can't change, quality and schedule could. That is a scary scenerio.

With the barley handful of SSG ACRs made, being made and potentially considered, I don't think it will matter much on depreciation on the year. The color clearly has a following and is in demand.

However, I do agree that the dealership should give you some money off, as they have held on to your deposit most all this year. Only seems fair considering you have bought multiple Vipers from them. That is just good business sense on their part.

Here is what my friend RESUMESPEED can share as the latest 'unofficial' info on 2010 Viper color charts. Keep in mind that this list can still be changed untill it becomes official.

ANACONDA GREEN PEARL COAT
DEEP SAPPHIRE BLUE PEARL COAT
GRAPHITE METALLIC CLEAR COAT
PASTEL YELLOW CLEAR COAT
VIPER BLACK CLEAR COAT
VIPER BRIGHT SILVER METALLIC C/C
VIPER RACE YELLOW CLEAR COAT
VIPER RED CLEAR COAT
VIPER WHITE CLEAR COAT
and from the last memo :
MANGO TANGO PEARL

Sorry Kevin but SSG seems out for now.
BTW, RESUMESPEED's info is greatly appreciated, just look at the ton of info he provides the Jeep community with by kindly maintaining this site : WKJeeps.com - 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee
