I think AEM used to make the closest thing to a plug and play system you could get, but not sure if they still do. It was basically just one of their generic ECUs with a dedicated harness on it, but I haven't heard about it in a long time. I believe it was the AEM Infinity line of products. I've actually heard of someone using two Megasquirts wired together to basically run the car like two 5 cylinders engines with common sensors, but that's pretty adventurous.

Why would you want those problems? AEM controllers are well-known to be some of the most problematic of the V10 based market offerings. We make crate engine controllers specifically for applications like these, based on OEM hardware, with OEM reliability, or extreme applications with Pectel... and I am located a short drive from Naples to boot.

It is wild to me how many guys try and buy used AEM stand alones and then wonder why they have so many problems.

Exactly. And the worst part is, that AEM has so many bogus non-descriptive issues that people dont even blame them half the time. "I have this weird timing issue/bogging issue/stutter/cutout/insert your problem here", so I must have a bad tune, sensor, etc... NO, ITS THE FRIGGEN AEM DOING STUPID SHIT!

It is entertaining when someone has a failing pcm or junk used aem and they blame the tuner. Then they spend tons of money at a shop that’s inexperienced with Vipers to just come to the same conclusion months later.

You can trace the vast majority of basketcase builds back to giving the car to someone who didnt know what they were doing well enough to avoid using known problematic components. People like me made those mistakes 20 years ago, thats why I wont sell or even be involved with that crap anymore. Want a tune? Have an AEM? No thanks. I have better things to do than be blamed for a hardware issue I never even made a profit from.
