(a) Don't confuse price with cost;
(b) Don't knock it until you've tried it.

I've tried the ABS on three separate Lexus models (GS400, RX300, LX470) and they don't cycle any faster than the Viper system. Personally, I find the ABS on our Vipers to be invaluable. Sophisticated or not, with nothing more than EBC yellows and brake deflectors, at Buttonwillow I could stop hard enough at >100 to make the ABS cycle with 11.5" Goodyear race slicks on the front tires -- and it wasn't at all "hair-raising".

We now return you to your wheel discussion, already in progress...

treynor,

It's good to know that the ABS actually works on the newer cars. My 2001 viper had factory defects to begin with, plus when I would stomp on the brakes, all the front tires would do is screeeeeeetch, so it would no surprise me that the ABS was not working either.

JasonGTS,
Just call them, when I ordered mine they were in stock and were delivered in 3 days.

Maybe not Ricey but Hot Wheelish, seems to have lost the body to tire asthetic ratio. MY2cents

Slithrn,
Ouch, sorry to hear that. On both our '01s the ABS makes the usual "tuka-tuka-tak-tuka" sound as the various calipers disengage and re-engage. The tires chirp individually, but don't scream the way a tire will when it's locked up. It does sound like you may have had a faulty ABS system.
