Overall, I like the stereo in the SRT, and a matter of fact, 2 stereo shops have said its the best stock system they have heard. Having said that, I think it needs a tad more bass. Here are a few tidbits from my search on a hands-on (haven't really paid anybody anything) search for stereo improvements:
1) The kickpanels are VERY delicate. I was having my V1 hardwired, and they were looking at how the car was put together, in taking the kick panel off, it cracked in their hands. So now they are buying me one, parts are hard to come by on the SRT. $100 lost there. I took a look at it, its pretty flimsy
2) The "subs" in the middle are only accessible by taking the whole centerpiece apart. I'm not that adventurous about that yet (see number 1). I did remove the grills, the torq screws, and noted the speaker won't fit out of teh opening. My goal was to find out what it looks like behind the speaker to determine what kind if JL would fit (infinite baffel, etc.).
3) The sub is under the passenger seat, haven't jacked with that yet. I'm gonna try a component change first, and see how that works.
If anyone has any experience with this, let us know!
