my 08 coupe is making a chiming noise internittrently, while driving. it is the same chime that sounds when the door is open with the key in it, or when you don't have your seat belt on. it happens while driving, and seems to occur on accleration, or when i hit a bump. it sometimes chimes once, and sometimes several times, then stops for awhile, and will start again in a few minutes. there are no indicator lights or warning lights or any messages on the dash.
any ideas what is causing this or how to make it stop?
thanks in advance.

It might be the connector in the seat belt or the sensor in the door. Do your interior lights go on when it chimes (you'd have to have your headlights on for that test)? If your interior lights go on, it's probably your door sensor. If not, it's probably your seatbelt sensor. I'm not sure how the '08s work with the passenger side airbag sensor, but with most cars, if someone's sitting in the passenger seat, the sensor will know it - and if they don't have their seatbelts on, the chime will sound. So, might be that, too. Quick fix at your dealer one way or another.

I like the color of your car - is that GTS Blue with black stripes and sidewinder wheels? Can you post more pics? I'm saying a couple of prayers that they're going to bring GTS Blue back when ACR ordering opens back up and I think that black-n-blue look is very cool. My girlfriend was getting really tired of it - on me at least :)

On another car (not Viper), I found that the door sensor was not adjusted right and was just barely detecting door closed. Bumps causing even minor body flex caused it to act like the door was opened. It was just adjusted to a "hair trigger" condition and easily readjusted.

Martin- it is GTS Blue, with black stripes. The wheels are 5 spokes, painted black, with SRT letters and sneeky pete on center cap, painted GTS blue. if you do a search for my posts, you will find pics.
