I have had several people contact me asking about the progress of the "Street Serpent" Coupe. Well, it is getting very close to being completed. "Very close" is all I can say right now. Jeff (AP Engineering) will be posting the latest progress when he feels it is ready. It will be soon though.

I wanted to let any one that is thinking about one of these projects know that Jeff Lemke is a true credit to the Viper Community. He is one of the most dedicated people I have ever met. He is constantly coming up with new ideas or concepts to make his products better. He is also very easy to get in touch with when I have any questions or ideas of my own. If I don't call him, he will call me to let me know the status of the project.

That (to me anyway) is very important when you are spending good money to radically modify your beloved Viper. I have 100% confidence turning my car over to him after talking to him several times.

This is a link to some photos of the SS coupe on the AP engineering website;

BTW.. Jeff didn't pay me for this and has no idea I am posting this...

Thanks for the nice comments guys. I guess I have no choice here but to show progress so far. I can say that we are definately feeling very Comp Coupe at this point. This new roofline is frustrating to show in pictures as it takes a sharp eye to notice that the roofline is almost 2" lower. We actually made a custom decklid to sink the stock glass down to get the low sweeping line. With the lower roof and wider body, the car looks and feels so much more intimidating and mean than a stock car even though the design is so close to being the same.

Jeff,
When you're done, please let me know. I want to order this hardtop & new decklid to go with my coupe conversion. Would this be easy to install, since the rear glass is quite heavy. Also, I have a coupe rear hatch already, so should I just use the glass or buy your's installed? Thx & looking forward to seeing the finale.

Hey Jeff: Will the car be done before winter? I'd love to see it when it's done, before you deliver it.

Looking Nice! I really love the idea of a lower roof line. It should really knock your car deep into exotic territory!

I assure you, I'm perhaps the second most excited person here (after you, of course) to see your car finish :) ...I'm waiting for the black vert next to yours to be transformed.. Jeff's next project! :D :D :D

So far the tentative completion date is July 19... I can hardly wait:eater:

-I am sending a set of "painted" lights/lens' to Jeff today or tom.
-Worked out a deal with "billy *****" to trade wheels. That should get completed this week.

GUY... You can really see how much "bigger" the SS looks next to your car. Don't you agree?

I know Jeff is doing everything he can to get my SS done. There are all kinds odd things like, opening and closing the rear "hatch/window". After trying several different ways and days to use the OEM hardware, Jeff came up with a completely diferent mechanism to open and close the hatch. This did however take some time...
I know he is trying to get yours done by VOI.

It looks like a monster next to mine :) Awesome!

I saw your coupe when it was still semi-assembled when I dropped mine off. Say, is it lowered?

Btw, are you going to VOI 10?

Yes, The car is lowered with Eibach pro springs and spring caps.

Yes, I will definitely be at VOI. Hope to see you there. Jeff was talking about getting a photo with all the SS' built so far.

If I ever get a SRT...Jeff will be the first check mark on my list of folks to call and get work done. That snake is just plain mean looking...

Looks awesome Mike. Keep those updates coming. Hey, I got ALL my parts from a 'reputable' supplier in 6 days. No hassles, headaches or bull**** like with XVipers.

When will this beast be done?
