I personally dont think it is possible to roll a viper, due to the low center of gravity.

I for one havent heard of anyone who has done so. And I might more than likely be wrong..

Somewhere around here I have pictures of a rollover GTS I bought. If I find them, I'll post them. The roof is strong enough (the windshield frame did come down about 1") to support the car upside down. It would really depend on how violent the crash is. One thing you don't want to do is get ejected through the roof, partially. That was another GTS we bought. Nasty accident scene. Always wear your seatbelt.

Seriously.

Yep, Rt/10 hardtop works just as well. I had a 98 Rt/10, with a hardtop prior to my 2000 GTS.

Relatively easy to flip / roll a Viper:

1) Slide sideways, hit a curb.
2) Go off the edge of a road on a downhill steep shoulder.
3) Go off-road/track in a curve. Slide sideways. Wheels dig.
4) Hook a wheel on backside edge of a curb while reentering.
5) Go airborne, land crooked.

Flat tire or other loss of control issues induce the above

Hello John !

I have in my garage a band-sawed cross section of a roof support bar....{It was provided so HMS and I could determine roof strengths for ViperNationals-I}

The tubular bar dimensions are impressive support, and are shared by RT/10 and GTS alike..........I will edit this post later with actual dimensions...

On the topic of rolling cars over.....

At the little 2 mile OH Nelsons Ledges.... First time there, the instructor commented how recently a 914 and a Twin Turbo were rolled over.

Rolling a 914, in my book was a real achievement, however, the TT story was much better. You see, the driver did not own the car - it was his girlfriend's.

There goes the wedding.....

Yes it is very posible to roll a Viper, I know because it has happened to me. I had a 94 RT/10 hit a wet spot lost control. I ran off the road hit a brick wall and fliped into a telephone pole and landed up side down. I had my seat belt on which kept me in the car and probably saved my life. The so called roll structure held up and the front window structure held up as well. The only thing I would suggest it getting some 5 put belts to help old you in. I came away with minor injuries, a strained neck, broken foot and some minor scrapes and scatches. God was looking out for me. The car was a toltal loss. That is why I now have a 95 Viper.

Ouch... that must've hurt...
I get the feeling that the Viper actually is a decent car to be in a crash in.. I hope I never am in one..
