I just purchased a 99 viper, which is being shipped to me. It is black with factory stripes. I want to remove the stripes. Are they painted or stickers? If they are stickers are they clear coated over with the paint?
Why in the hell did you buy a striped car to begin with? Why didn't you buy a non striped black car instead?.
..... I got this one, because it is a RSI twin turbo viper......
You can paint over the factory stripes. I suggest searching for pics of a red striped Black GTS because I think I saw pics of one.
Yuck. But that's just my opinion.
Did you check to see how many were made with your combination in 99 from the factory?
I'd keep it the way you bought it.
I agree..... but then a little red should make it faster
There aren't enough of them out there with silver stripes as it is!! It looks awesome.
What you need to do is flat black stripes in vinyl over the factory stripes. That will look so sick! I believe 6speed had it on his car. Very raw look.
+1. Everyone knows that non-striped black cars are the best......
With the '99 info missing from the registry, how do we even know the true numbers
Me too
You must be registered for see images attach
How do you find out what your car's original color is? I have a 99 GTS ,red with silver stripes. I can feel where the stripe edge is..Does this mean they are vinyl? I cannot find any information as to production numbers, color etc...Why isn't there info on 99's?
Thanks
The body panels are completely painted with the base color and cleared, then the stripe outline is masked and the paint is lightly scuffed (not to primer). The stripe only is then painted and cleared. After the baking process the stripe is lightly sanded with 2500 grit paper and polished.
The step height in the stripe is defined by Dodge and intentional.
