Re: Sunday 3/28 NY/CT Vipers At Lee\'s Dodge Then Tobay Beach???
First off, it was good meeting some of the guys I have not met, and that was the best part of the day. Thanks to everyone who helped me get back into my car. I now have a spare rear window key under the hood, just in case my tempermental car plans to lock me out again.
But now I have to say something, Chuck Tator, you have way more class than I ever gave you credit for, and I mean that in the best way that I can express.
Nobody seems to want to talk about it, and I might not have the gift of tact, but what the hell is all this B.S. going on between Chuck and Joe? I've heard all the back-stage gossip, and frankly I'd like to see it get out in the open and resolved. Some guys were surprised to see Chuck there, but know what? He showed up, no fireworks, he supported the event, had only good things to say, and left the better man!
Joe, you should have picked up the talk a little more about Chuck's BBQ coming up in May........more so than all the other sh*t. The guy digs into his own pocket, gives everyone a great time, does not even outright promote himself (even though yes, the BBQ itself is a deserving promotion), and in my opinion Joe, you could have given his May 1st BBQ a little more of a plug.
And another thing......what's all this baloney about Chuck being knocked out of being our NY/CT Vipertech? Give me a break! The guy has more experience than most, cares about what he does, bends over backwards for everyone, and gets blown off like that? WRONG!
I could go on and on....but the Sopranos are on in five minutes. Bottom line is I bought my car to have fun and drive, not to got out to expensive dinners, lunches, and all kinds of drive-to events. My 2 cents...I want to drive, hang out, maybe grab a quick bite, and drive and hang more.
I think way to much emphasis is placed on these big reservation-type events. Today was nice, but I really don't need my owner's manual spoken to me. No offense to Lee Dodge, I don't want to rag on them. It was nice of them to open up the place on a Sunday, but really, it felt like I was invited to a sales pitch that I didn't need. Sorry Mike, I really don't want to piss you off, and the day was generous, but I would have rathered just cruise and hang out. My comments are more of a reflection on the way the club seems to be run.
Got to go.....I'm sure this won't end here.
Chuck....you were right.....#12 can't seem to stay up front!
