I'm in need of a Viper owner's Support Group for drivers whose cars are in storage and they are in withdrawal. (Maybe a type of 12-step program.) You see, it snowed last night and my GTS is garaged and I want to drive and I am sad and my wife doesn't understand and if I could just have one itsy-bitsy cruise around the U.S., I mean, block, then maybe I would....
I'm going nuts up here in the frozen north!

It's not that bad - you should be able to drive your Viper at least once every two weeks. I did it last year whenever the roads were clean and never had to buy a Battery Tender. Just be knowledgable that cold weather = more power and less traction with the tires and the road surface, so be extra careful.

I have been without my car since September, uncontrolled shaking and crying starts when ever I see a picture of my baby. It won't be long now, it will be finished sometime in February and I just have to get it back up here from its Florida vacation, can't wait.

Thanks for the advice. I'm sitting here looking at digitals of my wonderful, beautiful, powerful and faithful car and it's not quite enough....

Mine's been in hibernation for only a week and I've already had to take the cover off to sit in it.

Haven't made any VROOOM, VROOOM noises ----- yet! ;)

I have your solution. Snowbirds you can't through a rock down here in Florida without hitting one, they are everywhere. How about SnowVipers. We'll start a winter camp program, we could rent a large secured wharehouse in Orlando ( one of the least expensive airports to fly in or out of in the USA ) and you guys and gals could come down twice a month for a fix. Plus our VCA club is very active during this time of the year.

Oh, no, I'm having a nightmare.
Can't drive in winter because of snow and can't drive in summer because of bugs.
I'm needing a "****** Vipe". I'm like diabetic who owns a candy store.
I've just got to get my mind on other things, like work, maybe.
John, from Lake Mary, tell your wife we think you are a genius.

My prescription for the long winter.Start up car every 2-3 weeks.Make the car go vroom-vroom.Turn on heat,ac,radio.Work every control and move it around. On the off week.Spend 3-4 hours vaccuming, washing the thow in rugs and every spec of dirt out of the interior.Next time dress interior with Zaino or equivalent. Then vaccuum and wash engine compartment and interior of hood. Then fine detail, then dress.Exterior meticulous clean removing every spec of dirt.Clean inside of wheels.Clean suspension pieces.Use multiple coats of zaino scratch filler then several final polish coats, then dress exterior rubber vinyl.THEN ITS SPRING.Time to drive and get it all dirty again like it was meant to be.OH I forgot glass cleaning and treatment.........Nope I'm not a clean freak, just passing the winter time.BY mid summer people at meets (other viper owners) at times have started cleaning off my car because it was so dirty and the felt so bad about it.I tell them to forget about it.I have all winter to clean it. Dream about her? You mean laying in bed at night, feeling the back end slide as I shift gears, looking at Corvettes in the rearview mirror, 10 second runs with perfect launches, cruising Mid Ohio at unbelievable speeds while passing everyone else on the course. NOPE, I never dream about her.
SapphireGTS, when will Scott have your car done?

Hmmmm. Good question. He admits that it is taking a while but this is his busy season and has kept me updated with pics. He has also thrown in a few things for free because I have been so understanding,so I cant be upset. I have a buddy that runs a shop, so I know that you get stuck on things and other stuff comes up. I just hope its soon. Driving a 4x4 Ford Excursion sure doesn't cure sportscar withdrawl

Take care man.

Rick, you can live vicariously through me, while I enjoy this So Cal sunshine. Its a nice 70 degrees out, and i'll be washing and later driving the GTS to the coast.

There, feel better? Always trying to help!

J/k, hope you can go snow skiing or something fun to get your mind off your car!

You know, in the past I always liked Vic, agreed with him on many things, didn't now how cruel he really was.

Sapphire: Pistons, cam, injectors, timing chain, the normal stuff minus heads, just cant spend the dollars for the heads now. I get more excited each day, almost like waiting on one when you first buy it. Got to have it now!

Vic,
I'll be flying into John Wayne in a couple of weeks. How about I wash the GTS and drive her to the coast? (You may have just saved a life.) I promise I'll drive her just like she's mine - real easy....

What pistons did you go with? Scott is doing the Ross Dished Forged Pistons on mine.
