Hello everyone

Im gonna make my first oil change this weekend. The owner before me have used fully synthetic oil 15W50. Shall I go for the same oil again or can I go for the same oil that I use in my Corvette. There I use Valvoline Racing 20W50 mineral oil.

And what about the transmission and the rear axle, what do you recommend me?

regards

Tomas

Use Synthetic , but Mobil 1 10-30w is fine, and even recommended. Call our service dept. for the correct tranny and rear diff.fluid and modifiers , as it is year dependent.

STAY WITH SYNTHETIC.
Supposedly you can switch from mineral to synthetic (may STOP oil consumption- bigger molecules), but NOT from synthetic to mineral. It can cause oil consumption.

Tranny - you can use Dextron III Castrol Syntorque LT (Mopar #4874459)

Diff - Mopar High Performance Synthetic Axle Lube
SAE 75 W/140 (MS-8985)(Mopar #4874469)
Mopar Gear Additive (Mopar #4318060AB)

You can also go with Redline brand of synthetic for the above as many have had good results with this brand of synthetic lubricants and oil.

Tomas:

Do not use the Dexron fluid, the upgrade is the 75/140 synthetic. It is a huge improvement over the Dexron, it pours like 10 weight and is 145 weight under load. It also eliminates the majority of neutral gear rattle.

I think Jack B meant that he recommends Castrol Syntorq 75W/85(MOPAR calls it Synthetic Manual Trans Lubricant 75W/85)for the tranny over Dexton...please note that the recommended synthetic tranny fluids are 75W/85 and NOT "75W/140" which describes the lube for the diff...a "minor" point til one uses the wrong fluid !!!
