The TA requires a six point harness and is set up to take one. Team Tech has one available for a bit more than $500.00. They can also match the stich color if you want that.

The Teamtech 6-point harness is fantastic, I've used mine to track. They make a kit specifically for the Gen V that is bolt in. Order from Jon B of Parts Rack for a good price. One word of caution - no instructions came with mine, and it was difficult to install. Once installed, it's top notch. I use mine with a Necksgen head and neck restraint device when tracking.
There is a variant for the TA. They do sell direct and it comes with instructions. It should take two hours or less to install. There is an order form on their site. Curt is the person to speak with. He is very knowedgable about the TA and the harness. Their price includes shipping and some hardware, including a replacement bar for under the seat that you need to install it. I learned all of this from Curt. I have not purchased it yet. They have a wide selection of colors. You can have different colors for the pads, pull tabs and stiching.

Perhaps a group buy could be suggested if there was sufficient interest. Black belts with orange stitching might be nice for any colored TA. I'd definitely take a set.

My guess would be that it's a liability issue. Gen II ACR's had them and they had to do a recall on them, I'm sure that left a bad taste in their mouth. The other thing is that like a helmet, that have an expiration date. I do agree though that its a really cool feature to have from the factory.

We have sold and installed tons of the Teamtech harnesses in Vipers since I started here and only handle their product. If you want a group buy I can help with that. Remember to shop apples to apples, we include the rear mount bar and ALL the eyelets and hardware to install the snap in belts so the price is slightly higher, but you get everything. Install will take some time and finding the inside lap belt hole the first time can be tricky.

I think the perceived complexity of the 6 point harness install might be a deterent for those considering tracking very infrequently, rather than actually spending the money. A few photos or short video that showed the trickier parts of the install, particularly removing interior and locating the hidden attachment points, would remove the fear of pulling the car apart to find them. I'm committed to installing a set only because I track too much not to, but if I only did the odd day I'd likely put it off because of uncertainty with the install. I'm sure guys that like to wrench on their cars wouldn't hesitate to dive right in.
The Tow Hook might be a natural to offer at the same time, along with details of the install. Basic paint protection for the track tops my list as well, and the idea of pre-cut bra pieces that I could install is very appealing. Perhaps there is something else that would appeal to the same buyer that could be bundled for convenience. Timing couldn't be better for all the new TA buyers looking forward to their first track days, and for other owners as well.

I inquired about having the factory install a set for me and Ralph explained that no OEMs are able to because of the way the vehicle is federalized.

The 6004SRTTA, which is the one I am writing about, includes double adjustable shoulder and double adjustable crotch straps, I bolts and boomerang bar. ( This harness is referred to by Team Tech as a super speedway lap belt.)
The 6004, which is what Venom V may be referring to is a generic piece designed for one driver only.

I agree Bruce about the install, I just have not had time to sit by the car while they are doing it (takes a while). Not a hard install on the GenV except for pulling back the carpet to find the inner mount point. The rear bar install makes the 5/6 points easy to install.

I have 2 concerns..firstly, as I understand it, the crotch belt will be threaded from behind the seat thru space between the seat cushion and backrest. As this should be adequate to prevent a submarine effect..I don't see how the driver would be protected in a hard rollover in that, with that design, the body would be able to move upwards...or downwards in a rollover. In a standard 6 point setup the belt would be fastened to a point underneath the seat and thread thru a slit in the cushion therefore preventing upwards body movement. Maybe I'm missing something..
Secondly, although I do plan to track rather frequently...I would think that you would be sitting on the belts all the time...even when not using the harness...comfort??

The lap belt being tight and the shoulder straps being tight would prevent any upward movement.
Yes you sit on the straps, but if you lengthen with the adjusters you have then the pad and release just flops over the front of the seat and out of the way. Other option would to be to undo them from the bar and remove if you won't be at the track for a while. This is also why we sell the belts with all snap in hardware because we don't want you using them on the street.

That is actually a good point as the 98 GT2 cars came with them but the recent ACRs which are also designated track cars do not come with them either. I have the Team Techs in my ACR but IMO there are better belts out there such as the Willans, as the TT units are very difficult to adjust especially when loosening. They bind easily.
My understanding is that the the 6004SRTTA harness has dealt with the adjustment issue. The harness is made so that it can easily be adjusted for different drivers so that if someone wants to have an instructor show them something it can be easily adjusted to allow the instructor to use it. Or, if there is more than one driver of the car.

Why would a kit for the TA be any different than any other Gen V???
