I found the last "normal" 1:12 that I was still missing.... and I bought it.
So from now, only chrome ,Pace Cars and Standox are failing.

Anyone selling it... please send me a PM!

Last night, I went to get some pictures on the complete family of 1:12's....
Took me a while to get it right, but I got them together.

I took pictures using my new Sony digital videocamera (DCR-SR290E) it makes pictures at 6.1 MP!
But, a normal digital camera performes better with inside pictures.

All together

Too funny! Your e-brake handle is pointing in the opposite direction! My yellow one has the exact same thing!
Maybe all of the yellow ones were built on a monday...:smirk:

No, I think almost all JRL-Anson Vipers have the same..... I got some models with wrong direction E Brakes before....

Only thing is, should I repair this or leave it original?

Another update

Quite some time ago I found a modelbuilder to make the models of my dreams....
So after sending a lot of emails the first models were ready to be put into my display.

The year is 2001, we´re in the middle of the Viper era. No race in wich the Viper competed was ended besides the podium.
So when it was time for the 24 hours of Spa Francorschamps in 2001 the Viper was there in large numbers. Something like 10 were to compete against each other and off course with the other teams.

The French Larbre Competion team was there with 2 cars.
And... finished in a 1-2 after 24 hours of racing.

IXO models was the diecast manufacturer to make the number 7 car. The number 17 was never made by any manufacturer.
A nice oppertunity to get it was to get someone to rebuild it by hand.
So I got this nice number 17 car.... it will be in my display along with its teammate.

Looking excellent! Now I would only need to know if they can also redo Minichamps GTS-R's and I can embark on a search for the most frequently produced examples.
Are you getting along any further with the site that has all the chassis numbers listed? One tiny note of criticism though.. look at the exhaust locations on the number 7 car vs. the model ;)

Any normal 1:43 GTS/R can be used, but be advised...... Minichamps is a whole lot more expensive!
The number 17 isn´t right at the exhaust.... 7 should be.
All depends on the price paid.....

I had the number 17 made from the number 7, lot easier.... and always the right colors!

If I ask.... they can make anything, but it would cost a LOT of money.
Asked a guy once.... he told me it would cost something like € 200,- to get a GTS/R to be made in 1:18.

Unfortunatly I don´t have the money or the space to put them in......

Also.... hard to pick a nice livery.
No one really stands out to pay a whole lot of money for.

Then again.....
You can´t find detailed pictures on these cars anymore. So it´s very very hard to reproduce a complete decalsheet.

If it would be insanely better detailed engine and cockpit wise compared to AutoArt, I could lay down €200 for ONE 1:18 GTS/R (could make an exception if the Oreca trio that won Le Mans for the first time can be made in a special commemorative box), but only if the switches on the control box on the center console can really be operated, if there are fully functional hood pins holding the hood down, if there is actual cloth (alcantara?) on the steering wheel and if they put actual mesh behind the front fascia.

Which still leaves the gen 1, 1.5 and 2 RT/10 plus the GTS out of the equation in ASTRONOMICALLY better detail as opposed to the Burago models.. and I am not only talking about 1:18 but also 1:12.

That's something you can forget about....
A 200 euro model would be a normal AutoArt donormodel rebuilt with a different color and decalsheet.

For a completely overhauled model you'd have to think around 700-900 euro I guess (or maybe even more).

Than for the gen 1 1.5 and 2..... Don't think they will ever see light in AA series. This simply is not the time to reproduce "old" models.
Maybe in some time..... be patient.

Like ITV idea, not a problem to pay 200 euros for a 1/18 GTS-R (and why not to produce them unlimited for all !!! :D ) it will be just wait to have the money to made some, but I think the first problem will be the decalsheets for the differents models....only that... just a question, about the quality of the GTS-R,are they made like Auto-Art ou Bburago.....

Arjen, I'm ok to think to made some,it's just a problem to wait to have the money -now- but I don't say NO...;)

Wow,we send the mesages in the same times !!! That THE VIPER SPIRIT HERE !!!!!

Yes about a Auto-Art donormodel and a decalsheet, but for me the decalsheet is THE problem to build others models !!! Who can made some with AA quality ?? that the question....:D

Updating time again!!!,
This time a relatively unknown Viper. And by looking from abouve, maybe somewhat less attractive livery on a Viper.
It´s the Viper from the Italian Racing Box team from the year 2000.
Racing Box drove this car in Fia GT and Belcar championships in 2000.
This model is based on the Belcar livery. The team drove it like this on the 24 H of Zolder

Racing Box would construct a team with the Dutch Carsport Holland some years later. They would even race at Le Mans as one team in 2003!
So, they drove this car in 2000, chassisnumber 10.
It has a rich Le Mans history, please join me with looking at it´s past )and future) (credits to aboutsportscars.com!).

ViperArry,
Where did you get the very first picture in your post - The red RT/10 in the show room? That picture looks exactly like the show room of Lynnwood Dodge in Washington state and the RT/10 looks like my '94 which I traded in on the First Edition SRT/10 Coupe. Also, the black '96 RT/10 looks like that of the owner of the dealership. How wierd is that?

Thats weird indeed.....

When I first wrote my Viperstory I went to Google and typed Viper... this is what turned up, or wich I liked most.
Since then I "borrowed" it to use it as the icon of my dreamcar!
Nice to know it was probably yours!

Hi all, I have some 40 pictures of the Rent-A-Car RT/10 LM's that I'm happy to share with anyone who would like them. They aren't great quality as most of them are scans and included is a 4 page magazine article. Here's a couple of the better shots from the collection....
