This post must be a joke. If not, park the car and learn to drive on another as stated earlier. You are going to ruin your car and/or your health/life, not to mention those of innocent drivers & pedestrians around you. I guess this post was just to see how many responses you could receive. ?

Hmm it's odd that you bought a Viper and don't know how to drive a manual transmission vechicle. I say park it for a couple weeks and drive a buddys car that has a stick to get the feel for driving a manual transmssion, and where to shift, then once you've got the hang of it get back into your viper and practice, practice, practice.

Don't stomp on the gas unless the wheels are straight.

I've found especially with my Viper that "SHORT SHIFTING" provides the most power, i was told this by PBJ and then once the car was dyno'd it showed the best shift points were in fact before red line. Short shifting a little earlier.... say..shifting when the tach reads 5100 rpm's will provide the power because by the time you shift you'll have shifted at about 5400 to 5500 rpm's thus reaching your maximum power curves.

Just my .02 cent.

BE SAFE!

Should you almost red line it before shifting to each gear? :bonker:
Not unless you are on the drag strip. My ***** shifts are at about 2500 rpm and aggressive shifts around 4000 rpm. Anything more and I quickly run out of room. BTW, a stock car will run as low as 1250 rpm without bogging down. So don't feel that you always have to keep it around 2000 rpm.

Also, note that it is very easy to lose this car during powershifting or aggressive shifting. Make sure you are pointing straight ahead if you do so or that you have a good margin for error.

And welcome to the club. :2tu:
