Yes that's right! :2tu:
Dealers can now order the new Coupe. At this time, blue w/white strips is the only color listed and no new motor :( [8.3]. NO pricing available yet?

If you want to talk about them some more, give me a call [HUGE VCA discounts!].
Thanks

Chuck,that is good news..

Is this a pre-order? or do you already have Vin#s?

I have not heard anything from the dealership I have my order with...I may give you a call if I receive no word from them by end of next week.

Iam using the ambassador slip with my purchase, would your VCA discount take me even lower???

Thanks,Rick

Rick,
You can't use the ambassador slip for the purchase of any SRT model in their line. Bummer! They would sell a lot of SRT models if they were included in the program.

BOB K , BILL P, Thanks for that clarification, quess I should of read the slip a whole lot closer, thought on face value you know because it was in the Viper Magazine.....The devil is always in the details and I know better...

No wonder the sales manager had the deer in the head light look when I mentioned it...

I am starting to suspect my dealership may not get the one I ordered, no facts yet, just a gut feeling.

Bill P or Chuck, if the books are open for ordering, does that mean dealerships already know whom is and whom is not going to get the coupe?

Thanks, Rick

I also herd that for 07 the car would receive alot more power and upgrades. And who knows maybe better suspension and all like an "ACR" sort to speak. Hopefully the new car will have at least 550 or 600 HP... with forged internals and a good 9:1 compression ratio like the pre 2000's which will make perfect ground for upgrades later on.

I'm ready for a new car.
Not interested in this one. Sorry DC.
All ya had to do was put K&N's on it, free up the exhaust a little and put in the comp coupe cam and brain, minimum 550hp. YOU ALREADY SELL THE CRAP AT THE THE DEALERSHIPS!

1. Warranty
2. Cost (ok so now we are at $105k (car +SC) to beat a vette?)
3. PITA to send your car away for a month+ to add a supercharger
4. Shouldn't have to add crap to keep up with a $20k cheaper, typically inferior car (some of us aren't ferrari owners by choice)
5. You instantly lose money on mods (ask anyone who has sold a car with mods, see bigcarrots latest car)
6. Isn't it more fun to add stuff to a car that is already the fastest? Or should we turn into the mustang crowd who adds a pulley and a few tweaks and beat a viper? It just isn't the same thing...

Correction on # 2- Cost, SRT is selling for 79k or less plus 9k for S/C = 88k and enough power to beat many cars, not just VETTES.

I'm not concerned too much about image, but I just can't stand the thought of being beat up by a stock Vette. I know, it's all in my mind but at a stop light, I have to ask myself 'they think they got me beat' before we even race (or at the dragstrip) and ya know what? Seeing the specs, I can't argue the point that the Viper will dominate. Stock vs. stock, it can't. I want that from the factory! Vettes now know they'd better not race me. The Viper has that 'image'. Mustangs and Hondas just want to see me go fast.

I don't mind getting beat by highly modded anythings at the strip. Hell, I got my butt handed to me by a Monte Carlo a few times, but in the stoplight wars, those in 'the know' know that the Viper isn't king of the hill  anymore (or soon enough)

I also was going to ditto all the 1-6 reasons above. I drive my snake year round :D and would love to have all this stuff under a nice simple no arguments warranty. Add a Paxton to your new Mamba and ANYTHING goes wrong....

I couldn't handle the separation depression while it got fixed, then I'd **** when I got the repair bills.

By the way DSR, we're talking the SRT coupe and it will prolly go for a bit more than the 'vertible for at least a little while. 6 months to a year is my guess.

Where to you hear that?

i would guess from the WINKERS & BOBBLEHEADS FROM DC SRT GROUP

BEEN THERE HEARD THAT

Where I herd it from are a few good sourses on this board and other sourses about the 07 car. Which makes sence because while nice this 500 motor needs some upgrading... quick. It's also my personal hope that they do what they need to get the power while keeping the 9:1 compression and also forging the motor like the 99 and before cars. As most owners turbo or supercharge the car later on and 8 or 9:1, plus forged is awesome ground for that. We'll have to wait see what happens I suspose. Plus think about it... your paying what 85 or 95K for a nice car... but the SAME motor you get in the RAM truck (srt-10) ??? If i'm paying that much, car better have a 550 or 600 HP motor with at least stronger internals as well. To me thats not asking to much for thier asking price at least. :)

There is absolutely no credible information out there to suggest this is true. So I have no idea from whom you have "herd that sort to speak and all." So far it ain't true, we all hope it will be true.

What research? Take all the emissions stuff off and put 4-5 inch headers on it and no mufflers, no cats? And get 550 to 600HP. That has nothing to do with the development of an automotive engine. That's not research, that is freeing up your already great automotive engine from all the stuff you gotta have to be EPA legal to a marine engine which does not have to meet any of those regulations......yet.

One member on here a while back, stated that a good friend of his that I guess was an inside at DC and what not, mentioned to him to WAIT to buy the 07 car because "in the works" were a few upgrades including a new... but still V-10 aimed between 550 and 600 HP. Hey bring it on I say, with other companies upping their stuff DC needs to stay in the game and I think you all will agree that the Viper is an awesome pre-existing platform to do so on. So where ever that other guy was... I hope and pray he's right

So let me get this straight. Your source is someone you have never met but read a post from on the internet. But wait it gets worse. That source did not hear it from DC but his friend did... OMG that is third hand information at best and I am not even sure I can call it that because you never even met or talked to the guy with the friend.

So to re-cap, "bike4Chirst1" has third hand knowledge once removed that the Viper will get more hp in 2007. We all want it to happen but spreading bad rumors really doesn’t do anyone any good.

IMO I'm betting just the opposite. When the coupe tanks with sales worse than the SRT, DC will kill the Viper off and it will be history. I don't think they are going to pump money into developing a faster, better handling and lighter Viper just to play catchup with the Vette.

And to think...all they need to add from the factory would be a nice little blower to bump up the HP to 600, which is mild at best. They also should use a Quaife rear end, which does not cost much more than the POS stock rear end on our cars. I'm sure people would pay an extra 7 grand or so for a blown V10 with an extra 100 hp. This would put the Viper out of the Vettes league for sure. Also, im sure DC can bump the HP on the motor itself, it's just that they have to go through all kinds of testing in order for it to be approved. They better act soon.

OK. If you really would like that extra 50+ hp it's as simple as purchasing the mopar parts! List price for Race exhaust, 849.00, cam 400.00, mopar computer 400.00, K&N about 275.00. Im sure you can drop the list price on those parts if you know a few people. All of this stuff totals close to 2 grand. The cams specs don't change much from factory, so I don't know why you'd need it. Otherwise, 50 hp can be had for about 1,500 bucks.
