At times I wish I could tell a story like Y2K3SRT (Chris), but I can't. So this is what you get........

On a rare winter sunny day here in the great north west another viper owner and myself were driving back from a quick lunch at *******. The food was good, but the drive was better. When traffic would thin we would dice it up a little bit, but always maintaining a safe distance from other cars. While on one of these little safe run ups we had to weave in and out a few slower cars. While we were displaying our advanced driving skills, we went under an overpass with 5 motorcycle cops sitting on it.

Nevertheless, we just happen to be talking on the phone just a couple minutes later and Rich (the other viper owner) says out of the blue "I think I'm being pulled over". I look back to see a motorcycle cop driving right by him with his lights on and I say "no, I think I'm being pulled over". Well, he pulled us both over!

After the normal license and registration, he informed me that there were 5 officers back on the over pass where we had made our unsafe lane changes at a high rate of speed. He also went on to let me know how he was not happy that he had to face oncoming traffic while he went down the wrong way on an off ramp just to catch up to us.

He gets on the two way radio and calls the plates in, and he can't be more than 2 feet away from my window when I hear him say "Red Dodge Stealth" to the dispatch lady. I spin my head around to see him looking at me and smiling with a grin. I knew he was trying to get my goat, so I left it alone.

LIKE MY PLATE????????????????????????

After talking to him a minute I said "at times it's hard not to get on the go pedal and that I will definitely keep it under control in the future" and I also asked him if he would give us a warning. He bent down to the window and looked me in the eyes and said with a little smile on his face "Do you know what it does to an officers ego to get TWO of the these cars at the same time!" I laughed a little and agreed it must feel pretty good sitting next to a major freeway with both of us pulled over. At that time he remarked about wishing he had a camera so he could show the guys back at the station. With out delay I said I could make that happen!

THE COP & I ADMIRING MY PLATE!

He turned out to be a cool guy and after POSING for these photos he was happy to let us go. NO TICKET! Not only let us go, but he over heard Rich say he really needed gas bad and he said to follow him. He gave a a police ****** to the nearest chevron just to make sure he didn't run out of gas! I gotta say, there are some cool cops out there.

great story, nice to know there are some good guys still out there

hover your mouse over the small pic thumbnails, right click and copy 'properties', when posting using the image icon remove -thumb from your link, so you end up with .jpg at the end. The software doesnt allow posting of other members pics I'm afraid.

here's one of mine
BEFORE removal of -thumb

AFTER removal of -thumb

with image either side of your link with no spaces (unlike the eg below), it will show up on your post

hope this helps

Too bad the guys back at the station could not read this post and see how impressed the Viper community is with the WA police department. :2tu:

Great pictures, I bet that Cop took his time with you guys with all that traffic around. He had to be eating that up! :D

Good thing you had your camera with you!

Cody, was that off the 'Sylvan' exit on HWY 26 ?

Always saw them hang out over there when I crossed that bridge on my Saturday morning run. Your tax money at work...

Hey, is this some kind of April fool trick?

Is that a real cop?

Are you sure it's not just a cop suit stuffed with donuts?

That was smart - endanger other motorists just to catch a speeder. Duh.

At least he let you go. Thumbs for the 1%.

Cody- You are a law breaker. You should have been thrown face down into the cement, cuffed, dragged to the station, your snake should have been put on e-bay with no reserve.Thats why our 2 snakes have the rev. limiter set at 55. We are upstanding ,non law breaking owners here in wa. state. :usa: :headbang:

you'd be much better off limiting the speedo to 55mph, bet your cars run like like pigs at 55rpm :D

I've been pulled over 3 times in the Viper so far, but no tickets yet.
But two of the times I had to promise never to do it again, and verbally admit that bad driving was dangerous.

The hard part is that just accelerating in the Viper normally can look like "dangerous" driving to some people.

Congrats on not getting a ticket. And thanks for the pics. :2tu:
I've had a mix of good cops and bad cops over the years, and it's always a huge relief if you get pulled over by a policeman who is cool.

HA! You ever seriously use that one Gerald? If so, what's your follow up to it or does the cop just laugh?

I got away with one recently, too.

California Highway Patrol pulled me over, I was towing a trailer, and doing 75, (not in the right lane)

He let me go on the speeding, and on the lane violation, and only gave me a ticket for the trailer, no license plate. I couldn't beleive my luck, and what with the crack-down on speeders going on here in Kalifornia lately, its all the more sweet to get a break from the lawman.
