At times I wish I could tell a story like Y2K3SRT (Chris), but I can't. So this is what you get........
On a rare winter sunny day here in the great north west another viper owner and myself were driving back from a quick lunch at *******. The food was good, but the drive was better. When traffic would thin we would dice it up a little bit, but always maintaining a safe distance from other cars. While on one of these little safe run ups we had to weave in and out a few slower cars. While we were displaying our advanced driving skills, we went under an overpass with 5 motorcycle cops sitting on it.
Nevertheless, we just happen to be talking on the phone just a couple minutes later and Rich (the other viper owner) says out of the blue "I think I'm being pulled over". I look back to see a motorcycle cop driving right by him with his lights on and I say "no, I think I'm being pulled over". Well, he pulled us both over!
After the normal license and registration, he informed me that there were 5 officers back on the over pass where we had made our unsafe lane changes at a high rate of speed. He also went on to let me know how he was not happy that he had to face oncoming traffic while he went down the wrong way on an off ramp just to catch up to us.
He gets on the two way radio and calls the plates in, and he can't be more than 2 feet away from my window when I hear him say "Red Dodge Stealth" to the dispatch lady. I spin my head around to see him looking at me and smiling with a grin. I knew he was trying to get my goat, so I left it alone.
LIKE MY PLATE????????????????????????
After talking to him a minute I said "at times it's hard not to get on the go pedal and that I will definitely keep it under control in the future" and I also asked him if he would give us a warning. He bent down to the window and looked me in the eyes and said with a little smile on his face "Do you know what it does to an officers ego to get TWO of the these cars at the same time!" I laughed a little and agreed it must feel pretty good sitting next to a major freeway with both of us pulled over. At that time he remarked about wishing he had a camera so he could show the guys back at the station. With out delay I said I could make that happen!
THE COP & I ADMIRING MY PLATE!
He turned out to be a cool guy and after POSING for these photos he was happy to let us go. NO TICKET! Not only let us go, but he over heard Rich say he really needed gas bad and he said to follow him. He gave a a police ****** to the nearest chevron just to make sure he didn't run out of gas! I gotta say, there are some cool cops out there.
