Re: The Ultimate Tuner Challenge:JH vs DL
Chucky, Chucky, Chucky it appears you missed Paolo's dyno runs where it [******] slapped Roof's cars HP, which until outdone had always been the "Claim to Fame" of Roofs car. Same dyno, same day. But the idea wasn't even to do that, but to run on the highway with the other JH. That race never happened though, so for doing this lame ass drag racing the setup would have been a bit different.(small pully, removed sway bars, softer shocks etc.) Oh yeah, that 862 was on the low boost pulley too, hmmm, not bad if I do say so myself. I think it was quite obvious that the torque was down due to the lower boost. But I even suprised myself with how high the HP stayed with a few tweaks to the tuning.
The real peerformance advantage comes in the 60 Ft time. Let's see, a 1.46 vs 1.74. So Chucky in your view Roofs car is about 20% faster if I understand your logic.
I can take a shitbox mustang and run 9's all day for under $20K, but what else can it do. We've got Neons here in Chi town running 10's
and if you scroll down you can even see the original SVS Turbo system.
How cute....Paolo has another mouth piece
I understand your point Juanomotime, Paolo drove all that way to run low boost on the dyno. And when he got to the track, he thought he would go even slower -- good strategy! I'll have to write that down
Chuck I do not need another mouth piece........ I could use another whipping boy though, do you have any candy a$$ friends or a clone of yourself that would serve the purpose?
"Paolo drove all that way to run low boost on the dyno. And when he got to the track, he thought he would go even slower -- good strategy! I'll have to write that down"
Chuck, if you really want to be consistent, I really think you should TYPE that one down!
You know, you even responded to the post I made regarding why I went to Texas==>

Max, with all due respect to Dr. Roof, DLM and yourself, you are correct about the torque to say the least. Look at the turbo cars!....I am sure David's belt was slipping.......
You also have to know I did not go to Texas with the intention of putting down the "Big Number" as far as the dyno was concerned.
I went to Texas to meet everybody and to run JPH on the highway 100-200 MPH and all other kinds of runs, and then also to do slicks and skinnies passes down the 1/4 mile.
As far as peak HP #'s are concerned, I am going to twin turbos and could really care a less for dyno #'s records ==> I had my little moment in the sun a while back and that's fine for me.
The reason I have done all the upgrades to my car was to DRIVE the car. I have certainly done that and have enjoyed the hell out of it and I look foreward to much more enjoyment in the future. Hell, I even took my car out for a little 100 mile ride last night in the 32-34 degree weather and (of course was able to spin the tires at 100 MPH with partial throttle). I also hit 170 MPH on the new concrete section that has 200 MPH sweepers when it will be dry and warmer.
Getting back to the questions of this thread, I think the track is more suspect that anything here.
Chuck, you quoted this part in response to me:
"==> Did you now Dean Word ran 125 MPH in the 1/4 in the morning when everybody did their fastest times? ==> I ran in the afternoon, JPH ran 3 MPH slower in the afternoon runs.......
==> Dean has a stock(power-wise/engine work/exhaust) 1996 GTS with rear muffler delete and an x-pipe.
==>Dean has 420 RWHP. How is that possible to go 125 MPH with a STOCK car?
Hmm...... interesting, I think this explains it all."
You replied, " So what was your excuse Paolo? "
I do not see any excuses for myself I went to Texas and did everything I planned to do that was in my control. I can't help it if JPH did not hold up his end of the bargain.
I worked my a$$ off to get the put in the clutch, transmission/etc... into the car, get the car on my shilt trailer and drive there through the snow wash the car when I got there missing an entire nights sleep on the drive/wash the car before the dyno day.
I do not make excuses.
Obviously your reading comprehension skills need some work as you read my response regarding the purpose goals of my trip. Then you come back with this:
"Paolo drove all that way to run low boost on the dyno. And when he got to the track, he thought he would go even slower -- good strategy! I'll have to write that down"
Why don't you TYPE this:
.......Before I go criticizing others who break their ass to do something, maybe I should try to do just SOMETHING myself........
Why don't you try to TYPE that about a hunderd million times before you try to give me any shilt about what I have done!
Maybe before you get to the end of that, you will realize what a pathetic little man you are.........Go drive your car and DO something!
