The following link will put you in touch with Vincent at Burns Stainless. They are the people that make the merge collectors for the famous Caldwell racing V10's that turned over 7500rpm at the 24 hour endurance events.
They run a computer program that will design a custom exhaust header setup for your specific car... based upon your cam, head flow etc etc. There is no such thing as one header fits all - headers like many things are always a compromise. For those willing to pay for the best - here's a chance to get a system to best fit your car re power and torque for the mods you have, the gearing, the rpm range and behaviour you want out of it.
They do stepped headers, equal length, unequal etc etc.
The added side benefit of their reverse cone collector to merge into the tailpipe is it elimiates a lot of that annoying resonance in the exhaust that the big bore pipes make.
Their merge collectors are almost too cool to run - they'd look great on a coffee table. They're also worth around 25hp over normal collectors.
Here's where to find Vincent: Tell him you are from the Viper forum.
