They have to make this right--period. Un-friggin-believable... We should invent some sort of code activated power limiter that keeps morons from accessing the raw potential of our Vipers. This just shouldn't happen.

Damn you beat me to it.

Mamba

Sorry to hear about the car, but just write it off to redistribution of you car to us poor folks. Again I couldnt help it, sorry. Hope everything works out, time to upgrade. Do it before the taxes go up:lmao: Damn it, I have a problem, thank god I have obama care to help me with it. Damn, I cant stop. Im turning off the computer.:dunno::usa:

Thats quite ok 85. The Democratic led legislature here in NC just voted to ban Internet Sweepstakes, a venture I am heavily vested in. I listened to 3 hrs of debate in which I heard government officials say over and over they know whats best for people, that they feel its ok for golfers to spend thousands of dollars on golf, or inner city people to spend all their money on booze or cigarettes, but that no one should be able to spend money on playing Sweepstakes...cuz the government officials know better and know how people should spend their money. Bull**** total bull****.

The State of NC collects millions on gambling everyday by the lottery, but they dont want small businesses like me to have a Sweepstakes casino. So, Big Bro knows better? Government knows better? They wanna legislate morality?? But its ok to have ******* Bars all throughout the state, its ok to sell alchohol and tobacco and make billions off of that, its ok to let people spend money on their lottery, but the small business owner cannot own these kinds of busineeses. I gotta tell ya, if the GOP didnt have a racist fringe element to the party I would SWITCH PARTIES TODAY.

Now, I just have to deal with the crooked ass Insurance companies that the GOP wants no regulations on and try to keep them from ripping me off!!

Sorry to hear this, BM1. It ***** all the way around.
I hope you get a new ride and some gas money as well.

People always wonder why I work on my own vehicles.
THIS is why.

It's VERY easy to do.

The Cheap/Easy way:
1. Remove throttle cable from throttle bracket (it just pops right off).
2. DONE.

The BEST way:
1. Purchase a tune from a reputable VCA vendor called "Valet".

I have one for the truck and it works great! RPMs can't go higher than 2000 and speed can not exceed 30 mph. If someone tries, the whole thing shuts down.
2. Upload Valet tune to vehicle's computer.
Takes about 2 minutes to put the tune into the computer, and about 2 minutes to 'undo' it.
3. DONE.
It helps a LITTLE with peace of mind.

Excellent advice. I will never EVER let a dealer like this drive my car again. Only guys like Tator, Woodhouse, Underground RAcing, etc and the other respectable dealers and tuners get the keys

BM.

Sorry about your Mamba.

Forget about the politics stuff, and remember, when the rubber meets the road we are all alone. The ViperNation, however takes care of their own.

I took my Viper to the dealership for some pretty easy warranty stuff, and reminded them..."We don't want any U-Tube events".

They smiled and assured me that nobody but their two Viper Techs will ever drive the cars. This made me feel more assured.

My smile went away when I came to pick up the Viper and the lot boy drove it up to the pick up area. AAARRRRrrrrgggggghhhh...:crazy2:

Makes me feel better about not allowing anyone to touch my Vipers. My Paxton car is driveable, but serious control issues if anyone drove my GTS. Course if the Nitrous system is turned on the Paxton car is even more dangerous for the kiddies to drive.

I write "No test drives" on any bill I sign.

I think that the "Valet" program is an excellent antitheft and parking program for my Vec2/3!

I hope you get it settled quickly. I know that on occaisson it can take a year or two to get everything settled. Therefore, I would speak to my "friends", Bill Pemberton, Bernie Katz, etc." And then call the Dealership and inform then how much the "Viper Rental" is going to cost them per month! You were planning on attending VCA events and driving to VOI 11 in SLC, right? It's up to the responsible parties to make certain that you don't have to suffer embarrassment or humiliation because they ruined you car. Perhaps they would like to supply a free Viper until yours is replaced? Might be time to Call Bob Pantax back again?

BM, sorry for the loss of your Viper. It amazes me that a dealership couldn't perform a simple hood installation. What a bunch of losers. Best of luck getting your full value back including mods and also on your sweepsteaks business.

When you talk to your lawyer, make sure he throws in the "emotional distress" clause. That alone should be worth the cost of a new Viper.

Keith...what a bittersweet moment. You're back and posting again...but for the wrong reasons.. Sorry bud...this is awful. I know how much you enjoyed your Viper and what you put into it. I hope you can resolve this quickly and equitably so you can get into another Viper.

Tony,

Some of my best memories are me and you raising all kinds of hell up in CT! Getting pulled over by the State Trooper in NY after your "navigation expertise" took us through Pennsylvania on our way to Saratoga?? LOL

And...me and you rasing hell on our way to Dairy Farm or whatever u call it up in Dansbury CT and we had a State Trooper on the other side of the freeway breaking his neck to do a u-turn to come catch us!! Needless to say....he didnt.

These moments are what Vipers are all about. I will not relent on being made whole. The fact that some fart head kid at some dealership wrecked my car makes me feel like one of my family members was *****......

Trust me...they are gonna pay for this.

Trust me.

Seriously...I will definitely mention this to my attorney. This *****...really *****.

Omg! This is horrible news and most viper owner's nightmare come to life! Man, I
Am sorry to hear of your lost! That is exactly why I do everything on my own. Unless it's like a person like Chuck Tator or some I personally know and trust that I will let them touch my car! Man, that sums it up right there for me. I don't trust hardly anyone where I live enough for them to even touch my car! I can imagine she being your first how heart broken you are. The good thing that it's their fault 100%!! You'll get another car no doubt but find a way to get her back and keep it! I hope it all goes through without issue man!

Ya know this is just a sign of the times. No one has any respect for anyone or anything anymore. Parents don't take reponsibillity for their kids or themselves. This as ridiculous as it sounds is just another byproduct of what this society has become. It's all about me, and if that means I can get my hands on something when the cats away, I will. It's pretty darn disgusting. Similar events have occured at TWO local dealers in my area.

Hammer the dealership for disrespecting you. Chrysler needs to know about this, it's time their dealers pay for this type of offense. As far as I'm concerned it's not an insurance claim, there was no "accident", it was willful disregard of your direct instructions.

So sorry to hear of this b.s.

This isn't going to go well with the insurance company from either side. You'll be lucky to get the most basic of replacement "market" value from either side. There will be many delays (the longer they wait, the more frustrated you'll get and more likely to settle for the lesser amount). The dealership will keep telling you that it's in their "insurance company's hands" and tell you to contact them. You're insurance will magically start to really **** from the customer service side.

Here is what you do...do not wait to hear from either insurance company with an answer. Get a lawyer NOW. Once you have a lawyer, do not communicate with the dealership, let them only contact your lawyer. Then get the car in your possession in its wrecked state and put it on a trailer. Have your lawyer send them a letter stating how much you want for the damages (has to be semi reasonable) and that the deal has to be settled in 48 hours. They won't do squat. After 48 hours, start a campaign showing the wrecked Viper around town with a sign stating what was caused by said dealer. After about 4 days of this, then let the local newspaper do an article on this lack of customer service. After about 1 week, let the local TV news do a report on what happened. Make sure your lawyer knows what you're doing and not to overstep your bounds or to do anything that could hurt your case. (you don't want to get sued)

Having a wrecked Viper parked across the street from the dealership with a big sign stating how this happened will really help get the ball moving. Hell, I'd even post it on myspace, craigslist, twitter and do a Youtube video of it. Once the Youtube video is done, get it on the internet car forums and let it go viral. You can also do a website called lakenormandodgesucks.com and post the whole ordeal on that....then go viral with that on the internet forums. Post a day to day discription of the stalling, lies and lack of service and responsibility. People will follow this better than a soap opera.

If done right, you'll get a fair replacement value for your Viper and maybe even get to sell them the domain website of lakenormandodgesucks.com for a little extra spending money :smirk:

If the dealership can't take care of a Viper, how do you think they're treating your wifes minivan?? That is the feeling you want to convey. God, I'd hate to be that dealership right now.

Good luck, this isn't going to be easy and will take much longer than anyone promises you. You have to take action immediately, even if they promise you something, unless the check is in your bank it don't mean squat. Stick to your guns and stick it to them if they don't settle timely. It may cost you a few bucks, but the money spent will make you feel better knowing you're at least doing something to hurt those that damaged your property and not take responsibility for it.

Cheers,
George

When the stealership totalled my RT/10 they did everything to HIDE and LIED to me and so on ... I had to sue them and it took me 1.5 years to get money from them with the help of the courts.
DONT trust. Dont believe what they tell you.

Get a lawyer and sue the hell out of them.

Perhaps you could establish (officially) that the car is a write off and then (with a lawyer's help) finance a replacment Viper. Perhaps order all the modification parts you'll need to replace on the new supercharged Viper you find.

I'm thinking that the only issue is how much you'll be getting towards replacment cost of your Viper? If the dealership admits responsibility and culpibility then you should be able to find a replacment right away? Dealership or their insurance co. can pay the bill? It's even possible that the Dealership may wish to find and purchase a replacement for you.

Been there :p

Black Mamba is one of the most desirable Gen IIIs imo. Numbers of replacements are rare. It's not just a Gen III. I hope you can get them to pay top dollar. Blue book value is a joke.

Just think of it as giving back to the little guy. Be positive, that kid probably had more fun right before he wrecked it, than he has had in his whole life. It was all part of "pursuit of happiness" redistribution, the next logical step.

Explaining Viper things to you
I'm thinking about ordering one of these myself, just to be safe...

Anti Theft Relay Kit

Not sure how making the vehicle impossible for someone to start has any practical contribution to leaving your vehicle at a place where at minimum they will have to drive it into a service bay. Are you suggesting that you leave them with the instructions to push it around their facility because they won't be allowed to start it?

Can`t they put it in first and drive on the starter?:D
