That's a greta idea and not too expensive, except fore here in BC. We have Gov insurance and profits go to taxes.

They told me that it would cost me 10% for specialty insurance. I have the max safe driver insurance discount of 46% (called Road Star) and they charge me $3,200 for my Viper. Theives!

Mortgage insurance went from $320 in 1999 to nearly $6,000 this year.

Not sure how much the cost of the damage is just yet. Car is being taken over to a shop for evaluation right next to Underground Racing, I think its called Scott Autobody on Tyvola in Charlotte. I am taking pics of the car and sending the pics up to Tator for his body shop guy to review.

I do hate this happened for you. My dad totalled my 06 vert out a few weeks back and it was not the easiest battle to even get the value of a stock car from them(and she had 20/20's, custom stiched/piped seats, and custom pearl white paint) remember they are in the business to NOT pay out any more than they have to so I do wish you alot of luck I am so afraid you will need it:2tu:. Oh and I am willing to bet the car being totalled is questionable from the pics but pics can be deceiving:dunno:. Lots a luck keep us informed:drive:

Actually I think he is doing a great job. I think peoples expectations of any President are not realistic. However pulling the nation back from the brink of depression in 18 months is impressive. As Americans we tend to have very short memories...we tend to forget that the country was losing something like 700,000 jobs per month when Obama took office, we are now creating jobs at around 16,000 per month. Of course people will complain about that too, saying these are sh*tty jobs, but tell that to the people who can now pay their mortgage or put food on the table. And it was not too long ago with gas for my Viper was bordering on $5.00 per gallon...

Oh, yeah, and the leader of the GOP party just said our economic crisis was comparable to an ant.....ok....that is a familiar theme.

Basically the GOP will resist EVERTHING Obama does, the Democrats will support EVERYTHING Obama does, and the Independents will make up their minds thelast 90 days before the election.

But I will tell you this, simply saying NO to everything is not a policy and not a solution. It is always much tougher to actually govern than it is to stay popular.

Thats just reality, and simply saying less government and lower taxes is not a policy s much as it is a slogan. There are cases for less government like when the Democrats banned our Sweepstakes business. There are times for more government like when dealing with the immigration problems and banks and insurance companies that lie and steal from people. There are times for more taxes especially on businesses that run overseas to avoid paying their fare share and to offset the deficit, and there are times for less taxes to stimulate business investments and job creation...but doing one or the other all the time is foolish. Policies must be tailored to the times we face.

I honestly think Americans are going to be very cautious before they turn the country back over the the party that alienated the Hispanics and drove the economy off the cliff and that keeps denying people unemployment benefits when they need that money to survive...its gonna be fun the next two yrs!

I agree. No matter what president we have in there 50% of the people hate him. This should not be the American way. It makes me want to puke...

Best shop you could have taken it to. They have done 2 vipers for me, color changes. The pearl they did on my white SRT is just insane. They are the BEST you could deal with. They've done a bunch of vipers. I have 3 more projects going to them over the next year. My blue GTS is there now getting some touch ups from hitting a dead animal. You won't be disappointed with their work. No way I'd take it anywhere else.

You should go visit UGR and their new shop, will give you a turbo itch :)

I drove my Viper over to Lake Norman Dodge and Chysler on Monday for an oil change, fix my a/c, and to put a new Gen 4 hood on, replacing the Gen 4 Lemke hood already on the car.

I had the new Gen 4 hood shipped to the dealer from Chuck Tator. Chuck talked to the manager at Lake Norman Dodge and told them it was an easy install, the hood was already painted and polished, and they did not need to take the car to their body shop, which was several miles away.

Well, they decided to drive the car to the body shop anyway, against my wishes and against Chucks advice. I told them the car was modded and I didnt want them driving it off the property. They drove it anyway and the kid downshifted and stepped on the gas and the car got away from him, spun off the road, went down an embankment and into the woods.

These clowns totaled my Viper. I had close to $25,000 in mods to the Viper, now I have to deal with their insurance adjuster....

Anyone got any advice?
*****. Sorry to hear it.

Brings back some sad memories of when I took my 1st '08 coupe to my Dodge Dealer for State Inspection.

The Viper Tech had to take it for a 'Road Test' in order to inspect it. Says his foot got stuck under the brake pedal.

108 miles on the odometer in these pictures - Totalled(Bent frame too).
They did buy me another new '08 though, and then some!

I wish you good luck resolving your problem.

Hey 1Fast..I saw your blue GTS with the black wheels...SWEEEEEEEEEEEEETTT!!:headbang: They told me you changed the color from red to blue...nice color! Yes, this place is top notch. They had several Ferrari's there about 4 Aston Martins, and about 6 911's, two Jags....very nice facility. I talked to the guys for quite a while. They swear the guy was doing much faster than the Police report said he was doing, and that he had to be hot dogging in my Viper.

They put a few pieces back on the car just to get a feel for what the total damage to the car is. They dont seem to think its totaled, but we will see.

AND if you look at my hood, you can see that the Autobody shop that wrecked my Viper did not put the hood on correctly! They did not install the screens at all and did not put the other foam etc in the places it was supposed to go. THE REASON I WAS REPLACING MY OLD HOOD WAS BECAUSE THE SCREENS KEPT FALLING OUT!! And these guys STILL did not put the new screens in, even though Tator told them where the hardware, screens, etc was, it was taped to the bottom-side of the hood.

IDIOTS!!:brick:

Sorry about the wreck but from the photos it doesn't look too bad. Hopefully the frame and suspension are fine. Good luck and I hope you're back on the road again soon.

I'm driving through tomorrow if you want me to take a look at it. I'm stopping by UGR for a bit to see how tuning is going on the SRT. If you're around and it's dry, I can take you for a spin in the blue car if you want. Don't worry, it's only set on 1000 :D.

I can promise you, they will be straight forward with you and 100% honest about the situation. They just fixed a VERY damaged viper out of SC. I was very pleased with the blue car, but the SRT is one of the best paint jobs I've ever seen. If you want to hit me up: [email protected]. I'll probably be driving through around 10:30-11.

COOL!!:headbang: You gotta pm.

Yeah, they told me about the car in SC. A lawyer stopped in a restaurant and gave his friend the keys to his Viper to run a quick errand....two hours later his Viper was smashed. Only Viper guys have ever driven my Viper (besides the clowns who wrecked it last week)...and my wife, for insurance in case I get arrested during a street race!!:omg: She needs to be able to get the car home!:D

I just wanted to say that although I was replacing a Jeff Lemke hood, Jeff makes great stuff and is a wonderful straight up guy. I would buy more products from him in a heartbeat. When Jeff came out with the Gen 4 hood back in 06 or 07, I bought like the first or second one he made...and he was slightly off in the paint formulation which made the paint chip a little bit. And in 2009 there were some mild issues with the screens. I told Jeff about this and Jeff sent me a brand new factory made Gen 4 hood from Dodge fREE OF CHARGE NO QUESTIONS ASKED.

Jeff Lemke stands behind his products and delivers superior customer service and I would not hesitate to buy his products in the future. Hell...even major car manufacturers have issues in their inital run of new vehicles that they correct later.

I am very glad they bought you a new one, your car also shows very minor damage externally except the front bumper from what I can see. But yep....the frame...the friggin frame. The frame alone is $36,000, it comes in 3 sections at $12,000 per section. Then add in labor, new panels, new wheels, tires, and you are already at over $50,000. The blue book value on my car ranges between like $50-55k, BUT that does NOT include the $36,000 (and counting) in mods I have.

This is friggin bull****.

I am just now noticing that this guy was a "writer"??? What is a "writer" doing driving my car?? This was not supposed to be a Motor Trend car test!!!!!!!!!!! :evilmad:

A "writer" in dealership speak, is a service writer. They are the guys that stand behind the counter and take all your information when you are dropping your car off.

I would think that the frame behind the front wheel is bent. It might be minor but it will total the car if you want. It does not take much to bend these frames.

I bet you will not get along with insurance well at all in this case, but if they do give ya these kind of numbers for the base car settlement(mods not counting)then please hook me up with your agent cause I will change my coverage over to him/her right then:2tu: Please dont think I am being a **** but my 3k mile 06 vert barly fetched those numbers 3 months ago when my insurance paid me for it. I swear dealing with insurance its the worst thing a person can go thru and I wish you were not in this boat right now.

This would be the dealerships insurance we are talking about or your own?
I think the post from the dealership about what happened and the various responses in the other forum may be worth their weight in gold. Hopefully, there will be some suggestion of liability there.

Keith, if it hasn't been mentioned you shoud call JonB as he seems to know how to handle these insurance claims/total loss issues for Viper owners.

From what I have read this is good advice and if I could go back in time I would have done this too. BTW just called JonB to order some performance goodies and he is closed due to death in the family. I sure hate to hear that does anyone know whats happened?

When the Dodge delaership wrecked my Viper, I have to say, their insurance company was very easy to work with. Once they had all of the information they needed, it was just a matter of faxing them my invoice for the '08 - Then they cut me a check including PA sales tax.

Ok, right side of the car was pulled apart to assess the damage. The Police Report said the driver was doing an estimated 45 mph during the crash. See the guy in the blue shirt looking under my car? His name is Jeff and he said the guy was doing 75 or 80 mph when he lost control, braked, car got sideways and slowed to approximately 45, went over the embankment and hit the trees at around 35 mph. By the way, the speed limit on the road was 35 mph.

MbCenter knows what he is talking about, the front frame is bent, and thats like $12,000 right there. They said the car definitely seems fixable, but at what cost. They wont know that until tomorrow. AND..Iif its fixable...it will take 60-75 days to fix it. The kid in the red shirt pulled most of the pieces off the car and checked several alignment points. Kid seems really sharp. Double click on the first picture to magnify...you see that shiny insulated device? Thats my air conditioner part that holds the freon (thats what I was told) and look at the sheet metal underneath that piece, that section is supposed to be about 8 inches forward. This is where the Viper hit the first tree. The exhuast housing behind that panel is mangled, but the Belangers seem to be untouched. But we wont know that for sure until they take more parts off tomorrow.
