Those with 3.55 gears I have a question

I am thinking of putting a set of 3.55 gears in My 97 GTS, and after reading those who have done this mod seem happy with the results. My question is; in 6th gear cruising at 80mph what RPMs are you turning? I love getting 25 mpg on long trips and don't want to be running the engine at 3000 for 5 to 6 hours at a time. Thank you for any and all insight, as I greatly appreciate it .

3.55 is a great gear for your car.

You will find yourself using 6th gear more for gas mileage runs.

I was never able to get 25 mpg on my 96. Used to envy the Gen 1's for their superior mileage.
Now my Gen 4 gets better mileage than any of my previous Vipers.

Whatever your tire and wheel combo might be, you will be turning 15.6% more revs in each gear than you do now. So if you were cruising at 2000 RPM you would be 2312.

DO IT! #1 Bang-4-Buck Acceleration performance mod, and it BRAKES better, too!

Only caveat is if you are tracking your car...3.55's could mean 4-5 shifting instead of running the track in 3-4. I'd much rather make the 4-3 downshift than
the 5-4. Agreed, though, that 3.55's bring the Viper alive on the street and at
the drags...

just keep in mind your future mods. if they include SC or TT, think twice before doing gears

3.55's may not help at the drags if you have to shift into forth gear as opposed to finishing the quarter in third. About 120 MPH is all you are going to get out of third gear with a 3.07 before hitting the rev limiter. 3.55 may help or hurt at the drags based on your setup. A lightly modded car it will probably hurt.

3.45 Unitrax Gears....1600 rpm at 70 mph....1750 rpm at 80 mph 95 RT10 Best mod to date!

The HP rating of the 3:45 is OK for a Gen 1 noted above...... but we would not recommend 3:45 at 600+ HP.......

and "Best Mod To Date" would be the reply of 99% of those who install ANY appropriate gear swap, 3:33 to 3:73. ANYTHING is bettre than fed-gas-taxer 3:07

Great question and timing! I was wondering the very same thing!
