Wondering if it can be done and if so, who does it? Parts for the Gen1 cars are getting scarce and I recently needed a set of T.B.'s for my car. Had a hell of a time locating a pair as DC no longer stocks(makes) the right TB but has the left TB's. Found a used set for a very resonable price but want to rebuild my original ones. I believe all that they really need are the butterflies. Any help would be appreciated.

Perfect time to get them modified. Open them up to 65mm(up from the stock of 58mm) for better performance with your NOS setup :2tu:

I have two sets for your Gen I.

One set is stock. They are like new. One set I have modified to 60mm. They work and look (stock) great. The factory TB has an opening of 58mm but chokes down (taper) to a little over 56mm. Why they did that? I don't know. Your intake manifold opening is close to 60mm. So if you are considering buying 65mm(accufab) you will need to modify your intake otherwise you are only getting 60mm worth of air flo. Depending on your mods I would consider all of the above. I only went to 65mm after head/cam/exhaust mods. The 65mm will do you no good on a otherwise stock motor. After installing the 65mm I had to modify my airbox (DC and roe sells these) because it takes a 3" hose versus the 2 1/2"(stock)

This is a pic of my current set up. These are 65mm and I had to machine the intake opening in order to open it up that big.
