thumping noise

I was getting on the highway today accelerating normally when I heard a loud bang under the car. I looked back and there was nothing in the road and the car felt fine. After driving about 100 miles and exiting the highway, I noticed a constant thumping noise as I was coming to a stop.

I can feel it in the shifter and it sounds like it is coming from behind the seats. I found a Dodge dealer in Bradenton, FL who has a dedicated viper tech. He took it around he parking lot and said it sounds like a chipped tooth in the differential.

I have a few questions:

-Do these symptoms sound like a broken gear? If so, should I have it rebuilt with stock parts or should I have it upgraded since I am going with twin turbos soon.

-What gears would you recommend for 1200+ HP.

Thanks, Bill

I'm certainly no expert on the issue but have him check your transmission mount as well. It can't hurt.

Mine did that when i twisted a half shaft, which broke the next day after i couldnt figure out what the problem was and left me a mile from my house.
