first i like to say hello to everyone. I am looking for some help on a 03 srt-10 coupe that is driving me nuts. the build is as follows 06 pick-up block heads and crank 03 wire harness, computer, and intake. k1 rods, .30 ross pistons 9.5:1(waiting for some forced air), ls1 valves, comp cams 270hr-14 cam, cloyes roller timing set (here is where i think the problem is), harded push rods, crower roller rockers, 60lb injectors, belenger headers corsa exaust, custom clutch, short throw shifter, 200 shot wet kit (havent sprayed it yet)and svt pro-racer tuning software . anyway the commanded timing is not the acual timing (when varified by a light) about 30 deg advaced. so when i command 0 i get 30 which is way to fast. i moved the firing order to get it to run now when i comand 0 i get 36 deg slow wich works (45=16) but doent leave me alot of room for advance (17.5 deg). i am also getting an eratic spark every 5 to 10 seconds. I think it is a disagreement between the crank positon sensor and the cams sensor. howevever the carnk posision reads directly of the crank (no way to mess that up) and the cam posions is set when i centerlined the cam. the only thing i can think of is to modify the cam gear timing ring. but i shouldn't have to do any of this. i cant help but think im missing some thing. any advice would be helpfull.
thanks

As we always tell people [and they tend not to listen], the Cloyes timing set is NOT meant for Gen-3's! It needs to be modified to work *correctly* on a Gen-3...

We do offer this service if you would like.

I would also double check all of your wiring, and those connections BETTER BE SOLDERED!

There is nothing out there... we had to figure it out ourselves. As such, we aren't about to post the information openly, certainly considering this is not really an end-user modification to begin with... that's just asking for trouble.
