You might want to consider the liablity issue in your state. Should get involved in an accident particularly at night,a savy lawyer will use the fact of limited visiblity against you. The lawyer would have the "force of the Law" if it is in the state books as a law. If your state has a law against exceeding a percentage of opaque visibity I would check with your lawyer to be sure.

Good point. Of course, just make them prove you had the windows up.

I think of tint as a safety device too. #1 it protects you from glare during the day. How many wrecks are due to squinting to see in direct sunlight? #2 In an accident, it turns the side glass into safety glass. All the fragments stay stuck to the tint. #3 It lowers the interior temp a bunch. Try parking a black car in Miami in the summer top and windows up.

I will agree that limo tint at night severely limits my side vision. People walking to the side of my car when I'm turning a corner have to realize I cannot see them. Good thing it's on a very loud car!

The tint law in sunny states should all be the same. If you tint, you better roll the windows down when being pulled over or be ready for the cops to have their weapons out as they approach you car. Otherwise, it 'should' be like every other law in American....let us be free.

I got my Gen2 tinted and I love it. Sorry I don't have a readily accessible pic besides my avatar, which doesn't really give you a good look at it. Mine's 18%, which I think is the perfect amount for night driving. You can still see outside but light glare is severely reduced. Although I've heard of cops hassling folks, I haven't once been even approached about my illegal tint in over 10 years of having cars with it. Must be highly location-dependent.

Ask around for a good tint place--but make sure the advice you get is solid. I asked on the forums here and a VCA member recommended a place which scuffed my paint a did the crappiest tint job I've ever seen.

I agree 100%. Mine were done at 20% I believe - just right. Any darker and I think it would be unsafe, esp at night. Look in my gallery if you need to see examples.

Tint is just another reason for the cops to pull you over...and on top of that I also drive around with my windows down and top off all the time so theres no pont! Furthermore, no matter who does it it can't be PERFECT theres always something messed up.

BAH! Here in The Netherlands they are making this "anti-terror law" that is likely to make EVERY sort of aftermarket tint ILLEGAL. Even though it is still in the making those f*cking cops are already pulling people over forcing them to remove it all    !!! I have read many stories already on car forums over here about this.
I agree on doing something against terrorists, but absolutely NOT to this degree where it gets f*cking ridiculous  !!!

Lol, I just had to post this rant to relieve me from the anti-cops stress
