I did 175 with top off and V-Mania windows on. I put it into 6th and slowed way down. Put it back into 5th and kept it down. I think that's all the ol' Gen 1 had in her. I've done over 150 about 15 times. Have a nice "closed test" course here by my house. Of course, this was all within 3 months of first getting the car. Now I'm just a cruser as I don't think I've been about 150 in 6 monhts.

Just for GTS Dean, 165/55mph construction zone

Repeated runs at 150+ with soft-top on and off.

125 this weekend and got there faster than I thought possible  , have hit 105 on the freeway entrance ramp so I can merge with traffic easier. Only had her for three weeks and still getting to know her. :D

i went from a dead stop to 180 mph (gps verified) in less than 1 mile, back when my viper was stock. i was pulling somewhere between 5,500 rpms and 6000 rpms in 5th gear. i don't think my viper has the kind of power i want to pull 6th gear. but they say 6th gear is good for 192 mph in a stock viper. if i had a 200 horse shot of nitrous i would hit it in 6th gear and try to go 200 mph. come to think of it i have always wanted to go 200 mph. i just might try that. nos makes a nice dry kit nitrous system for our vipers. its a good thing i still have those 3.07 gears in the rear end. i have gone 157 mph (gps verified) on my motorcycle in 5th gear. i have a dry nitrous kit (40 hp shot) on my bike that i am gonna hit in 6th gear and try for 170 mph.

6000 RPM in 5th gear is 204 MPH. 5000 RPMs is 170 MPH and 5500 RPMs is 187 MPH.

In 6th gear you won't be turning enough RPMs to make enough power to get anywhere cose to 200 MPH - 4000 RPMs would be 201 MPH & your max power will be at 5600-5800 RPMs.

165 yesterday morning in my GTS I just bought (still lots left).
170 something in my RT ******* (too fast to be watching speedo).
150 all day long, perfect cruising speed in either.
This is what I love about these things. 150 in a Viper feels like 90 in my pickup.

Bad analogy for me! the only way I'd doing 90 in my pickup would mean I missed a corner and was falling to my death off a big cliff :)
