I am looking to do some track days next year with my 08 Coupe. I did 2 this past summer and my tires are really wearing on the outside edges all 4 tires.

I am wondering if anyone can let me know specs typically used for a track alignment. I have a local shop that can do the work, but before I go there I would like to hand them some info on specs as this is a car they are not familiar with.

Even better yet would be a lead to a local shop that could set the car up better.

Also people opinions and thoughts to this. I daily drive the car putting on a few thousand miles a year, and will be tracking at most once a month. Also will the car handle better on the track? 1/4 mile times be better?

I am also looking at installing eibach's over winter. Will this make a difference on the specs??

Thanks!

A good person to ask is Mark from Woodhouse. I use his specs and they work great
My opinion, if you are daily driving and still wearing out the outside from a few track days you can go a bit more aggressive. I do neg camber 2.5 front 1.2 rear which is ok on the street but maybe too much for a daily driver. Maybe start at 2.0 in the front, see how it feels and go from there. Also get some toe in on the rear wheels, I think I have .2 total

I run -2 front and -1 rear on my ACR. I do a lot of street and track stuff with it and the tires seem to last reasonably well at these settings. Aligning a Viper is not like aligning a regular car though. You need to check alignment loaded and unloaded. I think loaded is called at "bump steer". When my car has been aligned they first do it unloaded then they load sand bags in car to verify alignment at different suspension loads. Takes a while and costs a lot. Check with Mark J at Woodhouse for exact procedure or look in your shop manual.

I have -2.5 front, -1.7 rear. 1/8" toe-in front and rear. Car is amazingly neutral in handling. ....I can induce oversteer or understeer equally with modulation of the throttle / brake / and steering input. Tire wear is way better than stock alignment.

Thanks for the info! I also got a call from Jon B so I have some things in the works. I'm going to try and get eibach's on there first, then the exhause done. Hopefully by the time all this is done the weather will break for me to get the car in for alignment.

Surprised no one has talked about tires. Are we talking about street tires or R-comps?

The stickier the tire the more camber required.

On my GTS running NT05 street tires. Im running 1.7-2.2 front and 1.0 rear for performance events as well as the street. I have my shims set up in the front so i can quickly go +/- 0.5. Just took the stock 1.0 shims, measured em and replaced with ones half as thick.

I am running PS2's. Will use these as long as possible and then seek other alternatives. I'm thinking Invo's, or possibly sport cups but IDK yet.

Stay away from invos for the track(roadcourse). They have a soft sidewall that rolls over. NT05 is the offering from Nitto that you will want to consider next to the others.
