Hi all,
Someone told me that since I have just put EBC greens all around my car. These brakes will be good with a track day. I know they won't. Did this last track day felt like I was squezzing cotton towel against glass...They also said it would be ok to leave the ebc's on the rear, saince they are a major PITA to change. I'm thinkingt Brakeman 3's on the front is gonna screw up the whole braking balance..any sugestions? I've got a track day July 17th..

Thanks everyone who responds,
Todd

Different front/rear pads will alter brake balance. Tire setup will also alter brake balance. "Screw up" is a subjective term. If the rears are such a bother to change then I'd swap the EBC for a more track capable pad and then leave them on for the street.

Thanks Chuck,

You've helped me in the past..What would you suggest for a streetable / trackable rear pad? I know I can change the fronts in 15 min. I've got ABS and the rears are really a PITA..."screw the piston in with these wierd indentations" type of fitting. I think most people don't realize the Gen II's have different brakes. I see arguments here all the time about how easy it is. Unfortunately, I don't have the easy ones..or fortunately (ABS). If I change themn this time I'd like to just have to change the fronts after the track day. EBC's I think **** all around..

Thanks Chuck,
Todd

The greens are too soft for a track day. I ran new reds on a track weekend and wore through the whole pad in 2 days. I ended up going to big brakes, and now run EBC yellows on the track and love them. I never tried the yellows with the stock brakes, but they might be a good option for you. But, the yellows are hard to use on the street if you have to drive to your event (I trailer). They are not very effective when cold but are killer when hot. I buy them from www.greatbrakes.com

Thanks Jay,
You run yellows all the way around? What I'm looking for is a good combo of ...easy to change front brake pads and rear pads that are good for street and track (just the rears).. I can change the fronts out at the track but the backs are 1/2 day deal. I say that , but when I get the "TOOL" maybe it won't take as long..

Im thinking on the front I want Brakeman #3 or as you said yellow EBC..Easy to change..But on the rear It's a PITA to change those pads, so I want something that will give me streetable braking and track braking..

i run ebc yellows in the front and ebc reds in the rear, but then i moved my stock gen 2 front brakes to the rear and run SRT-10 brakes in the front. surprisingly my front calipers run 20 degrees cooler than the rear calipers.

K fast...that's great.I'm trying to just change all 4 corners 1 time..and leave the rears on for street..I've got the Porche deflectors for the front. I don't mind changing the fronts..easy job..but the rears are a PITA!!

I've run every color EBC under the rainbow and fried all of them within a day. Dunno what that says about my driving. Anyways, it's been a few years, maybe EBC has upgraded their compound.

I'd go with something decent like brakeman for the rears. The rear brakes only account for something like 18% of the stopping power, or so I've heard. If true then you'll never notice much difference in rear pad on the street.

Give Steve at www.GreatBrakes.com a call. Good guy, great service.

Thanks Chuck..Say's you're driving brakes like there suppose to be driven!!

Will do..I'll get brakeman's for all corners and just leave the backs on for street too. I'll put the greens back on the front after tracking..Thanks a LOT for the help!!
Todd

Maybe I'm an idiot, but do the brakean's have to settle in? Obviously I'm not gonna keep turning these rotors..
