Trailers? Who do you recommend?

Guys,

My open trailer is for sale. It's a quik load trailer as mentioend in one of the above posts, so no ramps are needed, and I use it for my race car that has a front splitter and is lowered. Many of you have seen it when I am at track events.

I bought it used for $3,500 from another Viper owner, a little over a year ago and will sell it for $2,900. It has the rock shield, so your truck doesn't ding up your car on the trailer, which WILL happen if you trailer around a lot and don't have this option. It also has a tire rack that holds 4 viper wheels plus a spare trailer tire, and I have a winch that I never hooked up to it (in case you need up pull your car onto the trailer instead of drive it on.)

The trailer works PERFECT. It doesn't look perfect though, as it needs a new coat of paint in a bad way (it looks similar to how I bought it.) A good paint job or rhino-line and you'll have a perfect trailer.

I am selling because I ordered a much larger, enclosed trailer which will be here in 2 weeks.

About 2 months ago I ordered brand new tires and a new spare wheel (it didn't have one and I got stuck in a seedy area very late one night with a Hummer H2 and a Viper -- not fun) so you are set there.

First $2,900 takes it.

I've been doing some additional research. For you guys that run enclosed trailers, how do you get out of your cars? Does someone make an enclosed trailer that allows you to open the driver's side door and easily exit the car and the trailer or does every one "climb out through the window"?

If you put a winch in the trailer you don't have to worry about this problem, or you simply cut a driver's side door in the trailer.

What Frank said. My new trailer will have a drivers side exit door, and I plan on putting a winch in as well, just in case the car can't make it in on its own power one day.

Where are you getting your trailer with the driver's side exit door?

I have the winch, but still may need a driver to steer the car into the correct spot, yes?

You can do it all yourself with a winch. Just get the car pointed straight and then pull it in, with slight adjustments as needed.

I bought my trailer used and the previous owner added the drivers side exit door. Most trailer dealers can point you in the right direction to have one added to your current trailer.

I have an extra 6 feet of space now, so I think I need a fast go-cart to stick in that spot

How do you attach to the front of an SRT-10? Who makes a tow hook for it, I can't seem to find one. Archer says they're working on it and Parts rack doesn't have a bolt on either.

Paul, I'll let you know at your price point. I am communicating with a couple guys about it now at the rate I want.

ViperX, the one I am selling is a quikload. I don't have the trailer here to double check (it is at West Coast Viper) but I have always known it to be a quikload, and I know Sloan makes those -- I don't think anybody else does? The one I am buying is a Haulmark.

It's a fantastic little trailer. I pull it with the car at 85 MPH behind the Hummer all the time with no issues. Dual electric brakes so it doesn't push on your truck when you are braking, a break away set up so that if something every happened where it came loose from your truck, the emergency break would activate and slow the trailer down on its own. Good stuff I forgot to mention.

How long are these trailers you guys are getting, 16, 17 or 18 feet?

My Sloan is a 20-footer. I know an 18-footer would have worked fine, but I wanted the extra space at the front to put wheel/tires and I wanted to be able to stand in front of the car and pop the hood when the car was on the trailer (which is something I don't think you can do on a Sloan 18-footer if you have a wind faring). Longer tows better too. This shot shows how much extra space is afforded by a 20-footer. Again, 18 feet is sufficient for just towing the car.
