while dragracing today ive noticed it VERY difficult to shift from first to second..im talking wanting to use two hands to pound it in difficult.

is this to be expected with a new tranny, clutch, and FW? i just got the car back on wednesday evening from the shop.

rdustman, a couple of weeks ago I changed the oil in the tranny and noticed that shifting from 1st to 2nd was more difficult than before. The only reason would be the oil. If you have a new tranny, maybe it is the oil. Not sure why though. I am curious to know also...

Change the fluid. There was a Viper Tech in Tampa dumping diff fluid in the tranny (believe it or not) thinking thats what the TSB recommended to relieve NGR. After going through the TSB with him we discovered that he read the wrong part number.

Now you know why I go all the way to Orlando to have Larry Macedo Macedo Motorsports work on my Vipers or bring Tom Sessions down here. LOL

Uh Oh! your new clutch set up might have the wrong stack up. (intalled height) I'm assuming you put in an aftermarket combo like an aluminum FW. disc etc.

I put in a centerforce last year and my car would not shift right until I returned to a stock setup. Many aftermarket clutches use engagement springs to get the proper load. When the RPMs spin up they won't release. Car shifts fine driving around, but you can't change gears at red line.

It could be a bent shifting fork from the fast hard shifts, I had this happen to me from pounding it road racing. It would shift fine at easy low rpm driving but wouldn't shift at high rpms, Dodge put a new tranny in.

I had this problem with a new warranty replacement tranny, but it was an issue under all driving conditions. They stuck another new one in and everything was just fine.
