We now offer rebuilt transmissions with all the ugrades including a closer ratio 5th and 6th gear. Rpm drop between 5th and 6th is 400rpm! This is not the weak chevy parts many were using, but properly rated precision gears.

We can rebuild your transmission or provide you with a rebuilt unit exchange.

These rebuilt trans have really slick shifting and the new ratios are a great improvement. Makes 6th gear useable. I'd recommend it.

How does the closer 6th work with a 3.55 rear end?

Dan, this is my dream trans. for the street,

A bit lower first gear, keep second the same, third the same, bring down the fourth just a bit, go a bit lower on fifth than you mentioned, since the fourth will be lower, same spread for sixth. 3.07 rear, now this would feel nice, and hit the finish line on the 1/4 with in fourth at 5900 or so. Leave a little room for moding up the car.

Other than that, Dan's closer 5 and 6 sounds great.
